When I left the hospital today, Ian was in the process of being discharged. He was in great spirits and you would not have known that it was just 24 hrs. afterwards. He was looking to get home to his own bed. He will need to be non-weight bearing on that leg for 4 weeks. Surgeon was very pleased with the surgery, turned out to be more than just a dislocation. Thank you to all that got involved and helped Ian in that moment. I'd like to thank my fellow wrestling coaches who offered to help our team or took the time to offer kind words. Please continue to keep Ian and his family in your prayers. Coach Brutscher Atherton Wrestling

No if every #1 won you would have all 8 #1's facing in quarters.

OK Dude, you're good for the funny bone. chuckle chuckle. How in the world does "it is what it is" meet this definition? It is neither vague nor uncertain. What it does show though is a lack of interest. It is what it is shows little concern for what it is. That's indifference. OK, enough of this. Let's get back to the state tournament. I'll give you free vocabulary lessons during the off-season.

Saw this on facebook: When he woke up after they rotated his leg back around, one of the first things Ian asked about was where the Male "kid" (the one he was wrestling against when this happened) was. Ian said he wanted him to know that it wasn't his fault. So if anyone knows the other kid that was involved in this, we want you to know that we know you've been in as much pain mentally as Ian has physically. And we all hope that you're able to get through this as well. So much love out to Ian's coaches, team, all of the Atherton High School and fellow wrestlers throughout the county. We thank you all for your love, professionalism, and support.

It looks to me like ATM and several other Mizzou wrestlers (like Barlow) have little chance of hitting to the NCAA tourney unless they win the MAC tournament. Very remote chance right now with losing records.

The forefiets should at least be taken out of their records. Some heavyweights have 1/2 of their wins as forfeits.

#19 UNI just took it to the #8 Missouri tigers this afternoon. UNI got the ball rolling at Hwt where they wrestled their back up, winless (0-4), 197 pounder against ATM. Austin lost a hard fought match ans was shut out offensively again giving up a take down and reversal and earning 3 escapes. 4-3. Myers did look much bigger and strongerbut it made little difference for his attacks. Upsets all afternoon at home for Missouri. Mayes and Lewis were both upset as well. Nothing well Mizzouso way. They had a 20 something dual win streak against the Mac but got out to a rough start. Congrats to UNI for there mac championship. I could be wrong, but I think the MAC gets 4 AQs at 125. However, HWT only gets one.

How about David Carr vs Blackwell at 126. Hasn't Carr won the title since then? I know he moved to Ohio but I believe he has won it ever year since.

Great questions. Really looking forward to some understanding on this. I've only got 5 years under my belt in the world of wrestling and have asked other parents but no one else seems to know either.

I thought this had the potential to be a close dual. UNI matches up well with Mizzou. However, my money was on Mizzou as they were favored in at least 6 matches. I guess the shocker was the Thomsen-Mayes result. Did not see that coming. Nice to see Cox get the pin on senior night.

Congrats to Buckman! Solid wrestler and very humble young man. Man, several upsets yesterday I see. Looking at the results I believe the biggest surprise of all was at 145 and 160. Both of the 2 seeds placed 5th. I know it had to be tough for Ryder being a senior as well. Surprising for sure. I did see McClain pulled out the close one on Regalado which most were expecting but I heard it was a battle. I have to say congratulations to Union on another Region championship in a very dominant fashion. I wish everyone the best next weekend and I hope Region 1 brings home all the state titles!

And then the winner gets Huston in the quarters, that's a tough draw right there

My opinion on regional seeding is that it is what it is. If it's done all the way through, great. Kudos to them. If it's not, great. Kudos to them. Either way is OK with me. My response to your original post on the subject was the ridiculousness behind you're gripping about it to begin with. If you gripe about everything nothing gets heard. Pick and chose your battles wisely. As for ambiguity on my part, I'm a bit confused. I've been very clear with my statements. You're the one saying your words mean something other then what they mean literally.

I personally like the way they seed the middle school, seed the regional winners and the rest plays out. If the one ranked kid and the two ranked kid are in the same region they automatically get placed opposite side of bracket. At least you've seperated what rankings call the top ranked kids. Upsets are bound to happen, that is what makes this sport exciting. I personally think it's unfair to the kids.

Any update on this young man? Prayers. (Don't break any Hippa laws)

My thoughts on the region 6 tournament. Standouts. 106 Pye: I see a kid that has the physic and athleticism to be a state champ. He thoroughly impressed me. I will be following him closely at state. 120: very even match with Wells and Roth. Roth has the potential to get to the finals. Wells looks to be ready to cash in as well and finally win a state championship. 126: Moore & yenter: both very even. I saw a takedown and near fall not called. Want to see this match up again. 145: noah duke: impressed. He reminds me of another talented middle schooler who won a regional championship. Though I thought 145 was quite week in this region. I will be anxious to see if he can handle the pressure of the hs state atmosphere. Can the young gun place when the pressure is on. 152: cody huston: haven't seen a more sound wrestler technically than him this year in any weight class. Brown and smallwood better bring it at state. 160: masons a beast. Can't wait to see him dominate at state. 170: cornett: congrats to Casey. I think he's a 2 timer.

Prayers sent for that young man and his family, as well as his opponent as that kid was absolutely torn up over this event.

Wish him and his family well. Hopefully it is a speedy recovery. Sounds like Heavyweight took a lot of season ending injuries today. Hate to see that.

The rankings are great to get people talking. While I may not always agree, I love seeing kids that out wrestle their individual rankings and beat the boys they "shouldn't". Great job to all of the underdogs! I am your biggest fan. RESPECT!!!

Can anyone justify why Region 7 seeds every wrestler? I would understand if trackwrestling sorted it all out for us but it just seems unnecessary and a waste of time. I think to be seeded a wrestler should have to have a winning record to begin with, and the seeds should only go through the top 6. An exception would be if a weight class doesn't have six wrestlers with winning records. Then I think you use the criteria and include all wrestlers, but still only go through the top 6.

Hey mr. That. Was the true story, how about you not hide behind a name. It was infact my roomate who thought it would be funny. Lets get something straight, saying a kid sucks, is not illegal nothing wrong with it, haters said that about me all the time.i didnt say it, but i will say this, what a real baby it takes as a grown man to call the police over such a comment. Get better or dont, its a dam public high school wrestling forum. People made a screen name about me last year saying awful things about me and how i would never beat trent Johnson, well howd that work? What happened? Dont callme out when you infact dont know shit about that night. My roomate says he will get on here and let you know it was him if you really need it. Look my career in ky was pretty successful, its done, this subject was over so let it be, no need to bring that buisness up. Would sure like to know who you are AJ Bindner
