Ranger123 43 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 With so many big shakeups after this weekend I thought I would go ahead and post an update. I guess I'm picking Trinity for the state duals this weekend. But I think a Trinity-Larue final would be awesome. It could go either way. 103 1 PD Pat Milford 122 Cam Co Garth Yenter 103 Un Co Brock Ervin 84 Lar Co Spencer Hines 95 NO Mitch Rusch 86 PRP Bryce Payton 107 UH Trae Blackwell 88 Ft Camp David Sahms 99 eaglewrestler12 2 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Didn't know if you got these result at 135 Ranger, but Honeycutt avenged his loss to Pender at the Dragon, and then beat Watts(OC), and Shirey(EAST) in 2OT to take 3rd after losing to Krauziewics. Shirey beat Korey Belew, and Caleb Lonkard 5-0, before losing to Honeycutt, after losing to Jordan Murphy 6-3. Watts of Oldham County beat Newberry(JTOWN) and Belew, before losing to Murphy and Honeycutt. Murphy forfeited to Krauziewics in the final. Also, at 152, Hendren has moved back up from 145. SK Herald beat Ryle Roland, then Cooper Jones Tech fall SK Herald 16 - 0 and then Cooper Jones lost on dec to Thompson 5 - 4?Herald didn't change nor did Jones?rylesdad has the answer. Roland beat Jones earlier in the week and then split with Herald. Also, Herald lost to Spahr earlier in the week. So overall I didn't see anything that changed my mind about those guys. Essentially Roland lost 1 match (in this discussion). I'm not holding that one against him at this point. Jones has been impressive, but lost to Roland. The other guys still have a little to prove. ryledad 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 From what I understand this was an "EXHIBITION" match and did not even count? Oh well they are all excellent wrestlers good luck to them all at regionals.Ryle was scheduled on Wednesday night to wrestle Cooper. For whatever reason Cooper's varsity wrestled our jv except for a few selected matches. Andy Gilliland wrestled Court Mace. Lane Jones wrestled Zack Rowland. I think there may have been another varsity wrestler or two from Ryle. Zack took Lane down and then cradled him up and pinned him. Not much to the match. Call it what you will I call it a win. If the outcome were different I am sure Lane would count it as well. TJ Bates and another one of their varsity wrestlers were awol. Coach Ruschell didn't want to kick sand in anyone's face so there you have it. Next time I say line them up and wrestle. Let the chips fall where they may. Exhibition PLEASE! Lane is a good wrestler but Zack got the better of him that day.

jbigdaddy 8 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Mike Barren sent an email to coaches earlier this week. Basically a wrestler has to certify by January 30th and that date will not change due to weather. The wrestler must have four activities to certify, such as weigh-ins or matches. So if a wrestler weighs-in at his new weight on January 30th, he must wrestle three matches to get his four activities in. Also, if a wrestler previously certified at a weight, he may bump up only one weight class, otherwise he loses his certification at the lower weight. So a guy certifying at 125 can wrestle 130, but cannot wrestle 135 and keep the certification at 125. My question is: does anyone really monitor this? I imagine it is another case of KHSAA making rules that will not be monitored. Just my opinion.
