I think the refs missed a call in my son's match in O.T., but like Ohiowrestler stated they all all human. I think for as many matches they refed they all did a very good job. I always tell my boys never leave it to the ref to make a call like that. You have to get it done in the 6 minutes.

I have a 4 yr old daughter who had an asthma attack Friday evening after we left the event, and had to have breathing treatments throughout the day on Saturday. The area WAS filthy!! Her white tights were ruined, and that was just from being in the seating. The area was to small for her to play on the floor, and I did not let her run around the arena. I have traveled to Frankfort and Lexington for the past 7 years for the State Wrestling Tournament and State Cross Country Meet, and I do NOT think the Horse Park is appropriate for Wrestling. As a mother, and a Team Mom, I was upset that regular folks aren't allowed on the floor to take photos during a match, or for the Medal Ceremony. In Frankfort, this was allowed. Also, what in Haiti was the restriction that you could only take photos, or record matches, from your seat, and were not allowed to use a tripod? That was the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard. I agree that a rotation to each of the Regions would be the fairest thing for all involved. Why should one Region benefit more over the others? I live in the Louisville Area, and for one would not mind paying $8.00 to park daily, it sure beats paying $300 for a 2 night stay at a hotel. I just think that KHSAA needs to look at all aspects before renewing their contract with Alltech, and take into consideration that the Athletes especially, may have sensitivities to their surrounding and could (not necessarily WILL) affect the outcome of their matches due to those sensitivities. I think that it should be put up for a vote of all involved as to where it should be held. I would definitely cast my vote for an 8 year rotation.

Definitely could be true. Just using the most recent stats I could find quickly on the internet based on census information. But if you are talking about being centrally located, wouldn't you want to be centrally located to where most people live? I can't find it right now but at one time I ran the numbers on driving times for every school listed on KHSAA under wrestling for NKU's arena, Alltech Arena, and somewhere in Louisville. If I remember correctly the drive times for Louisville were shorter. I'm going to try to find that spreadsheet soon.

The area was to small for her to play on the floor, and I did not let her run around the arena.... . Also, what in Haiti was the restriction that you could only take photos, or record matches, from your seat, and were not allowed to use a tripod? You are to be commended for not letting your daughter run around the arena. I was run over several times by youngsters during the weekend when I didn't dodge quick enough. The reason the tripods were not allowed, I was informed, was that a girl crashed into one during Friday's matches and they were afraid of more incidents ( I read that as possible lawsuits). We were allowed to use ours at our seat as long as the legs were not unfolded from the center and it was immediately retracted when finished.

For the record, I prefer Alltech to Frankfort. Much prefer a two-day tournament as opposed to three.

Now you're talking! This, or something similar is the way to go. It works well across the river. Allow the kids to settle the "seeds" on the mat. The brackets even out. The only time this is not the case is if a top kid gets upset at the sectional level. Even so, that "top" kid just might have been overrated to begin with.

Anklepick--- I ask that if you’re going to bash officials here in the state and single out one of them in a public forum that you become part of the salutation and not part of the problem. Go out get certified to be a wrestling official join the KWOA sit in on the region meetings, run for a state held position within the KWOA and help the state. Talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. I for one have been at this for well over 25 years and have officiated in what I would call 3 of the top 10 states in high school wrestling (OH, IL, and NY). KY in all honesty is right on track compared to NC and SC where I have also officiated and watched high school wrestling over the last 10 years. Once you become an official and say have at least 5 years under your belt then you might understand that what it means to be an official and that we are here doing it for the love of the sport and that we as a group within the KWOA are working hard to unite the officials and GROW the sport of wrestling here in KY. But it must start with people like YOU, ones that have a voice and know what we need to accomplish this task. So, I challenge you, pay your money take the test become an official, donate your free time on the weekends, one or two nights a week come to the region meeting once every two weeks during the season and run for a spot on the KWOA. Help us get better as a group we need people just like you in our ranks…..

I always enjoyed the short haired female ref, she was always pretty consistent in her calls and knows a pin when she sees it.

My son was Blessed by having those three Men be part of his life. The lessions they taught him will extend far past wrestling and will benefit him the rest of his life. From a very thankful Father, Thank you Gentlemen for being a part of our lives.

Also seen where they cant suck up their pride and admit to being wrong or they actually believe their wrong call was correct. Its a tough job and none will ever get every call correct, I'm not being critcal, just interested in the opinions of others as to the call.

I have to agree. I've only spoke to the man in passing a couple times but have heard nothing but respect and admiration of virtually everyone that comes in contact with him. He portrays everything you would want in a coach. I really got a kick watching him and his staff celebrating during the semi matches. I became a even bigger fan of st x wrestling this weekend. Well done in representing the state and how it should be done.

I remember when I wrestled in middle school we didn't have all of this. So first I want to say thanks to all of the people who has made it what it is today. Us as adults should step back an put the kids first an not all of the blaming an talking about this or that . Our goal should be trying to step up as a state to improve the sport so we will be known for wrestling cause we have the kids to do it. I know I was talking to a friend in Nebraska an he said that this was the weak state to get a title an i told him its bigger than it use to be. So why not step up together and keep pushing to make not only our own kids better but the state . PS I only got on here cause I'm tired on us putting each other down were all from the great state ky!!! Jus saying and I don't hide my number is 270-889-1864 call me cause I don't like to type all day I do that at work. Have a great day kentucky.

I would imagine that having Knable as a coach is a great help. But do not forget that Coach Kraeszig was his Head Wrestling Coach from 1999-2001...for three of his state titles. Somebody has to coach Knable to those titles.

1 Kryptonite works on SM , Nothing stops Gamma rays ATM is invulnerable , as long as there's a big supply of groceries . Only person I saw last year who should have gotten ejected was the Woodford mom and the ref that missed the 2 second pin , Ph is going to hide the backpack and totally throw Carr of his game . Chamberle seemed very calm to me after Hieros loss People may have less to poke fun of sat , Hiero has the best draw in his class probably the luckiest in the tournament ,160 has 5 of the top 7 on one side that's good though , , as I said CC finally had home court advantage and it paid off with the most regional Champs in the state . 8 I wonder if they have ever had that many or any reg 6 team has that's over half the classes
