I attend the meetings as well and don't always agree with what is passed. I'm just saying that trolling the forum with sarcastic complaints doesn't help the situation. In fact, it makes people less likely to listen if you do have a good idea. Here's an example: I could jump on the State Duals post and point out that it makes no sense to hold state duals in a county that is closer to St. Louis than the Capitol of Kentucky but what would that accomplish 2 weeks before state duals? Nothing. Instead I have to respect the fact that Union stepped up to take it and that is what was decided. If I don't want to go then that's my choice. Complaining on a forum wont improve anything.

Or like having 1000 kids at a youth State Tournament with multiple brackets per weight class in any given age group with no qualifiers and call the winner of every bracket a "State Champion"...??? Confused is spot on!!

I am only Tracking two teams going to this very challenging Tournament in WV this weekend. Both Meade and John Hardin got some very favorable seeds this year. Each weight class can have up to 64 wrestlers and only the top 16 get seeded. Teams from KY, WV, OH, PA, NJ, NC, and TN are a few of the states who sent teams this year. You can do more research on your own if you want to at WVmat.com ( http://wvmat.com/temp/17wsazhs2.pdf ) The Seeds have been released for the 2017 WSAZ Tournament in Huntington West Virgina. John Hardin will Join Meade County this year at the Tournament. For Meade(MCHS) and John Hardin(JHHS) 2017 ... 106 #4 Rickey Garcia (JHHS) #10 Paul Perry (MCHS) 113 None 120 #7 Brody Haverstick (JHHS) 126 #10 Bailey Medley (MCHS) 132 #15 Chase Wallace (JHHS) 138 #7 Roger Young (MCHS) 145 #2 Trent Johnson (JHHS) 152 #1 Derrick Smallwood (JHHS) 160 #8 Johnny Lee (MCHS) #13 Griffin Dulak (JHHS) 170 #10 Tyler Lawrence (MCHS) 182 #7 Kevin Schantz (MCHS) 195 #1 Dalton Jett (MCHS) 220 #7 Bryan Pratt (MCHS) #8 Trey Wright (JHHS) 285 HW None 17wsazhs2.pdf

agreed. Ky wrestling could use a few more guys dedicated to growing the sport at small schools like him and yourself (won't hold it against you for moving back to TC )

The last practice of the season when I wrestled was always in the western hills cafeteria the night before state. That dome gym was a sight to see. Congrats to them for qualifying!

I like that they get another tournament. I just find it odd that we combined a MS "JV" group to our state's youth tournament. I would rather us create a separate tournament altogether or (bare minimum) not include their team points w/ the youth. It's no longer a youth tournament, but a youth/JV MS combo...huh? And no, I have no issues w/ kids wrestling up at all.

So what is a solution that would grow and enhance the sport of wrestling in Kentucky? If you have a solution, it would be a great platform to run on for one of the opening KSWA board positions. Change and growth are good but they take people working together for solutions, not the unwilling complaining about the work that the willing are doing. I'm not saying you or anyone else is unwilling, just that solutions are what's needed. Not complaints.

Just made my point even more correct, shouldn't have hatred for other teams or kids, maybe try being like invictica and the morals knable teaches. The results may be different than last year. Just messing with ya ranger not trying to start an arguement, whats a little fun while im waiting for this biology class going to hurt

Some of you must really like wasting your time with commenting on these rankings about who does what and why someone should be ranked where, THEY ARE RANGERS OPINONS. If your the best, you will prevail in Feb, nothing you post will change the rankings from ranger, just do your own rankings or your wrestlers and rank them #1 if you want to, because ifyou arnt etc or nothern ky, you wont be ranked where u should. Rant done. Have a great day

No 16 man brackets. We will run 8 man and Round Robin for smaller groups

I just need names, ages, and weights. There will be no weigh in at tournament, but if a wrestlers weight is questioned by an opposing coach, they will need to weigh and be within a "reasonable" amount of the weight I was given. If said wrestler is beyond a reasonable amount, thst wrestler will be disqualified for this event, but still qualifiedfor youth state. Example - if you send in a weight of 60 lbs, but it is questioned and saud wrestler is actually 66 lbs, that is unacceptable. There is no reason to not be within a couple lbs of weight.

No. I've never known of a freshman that didn't understand why he didn't get a chance to wrestle in the regional tourney, or even wrestle in very many tourneys. Kids aren't stupid...they understand how high school wrestling works, especially if the HS and ms team work together closely as most do.
