A true "randon draw" could potentially put a Regional Champ vs Regional Champ first round! A random draw is nothing more than the lazy way to do a seed meeting. Kudos to the MS association and coaches around the state for stepping up and getting it done the right way.

I personally like the fact that Ranger led the charge to keep evolving our middle school wrestling. I think a lot of people have make some valid points. I like the fact that people are willing to attempt to make changes. No matter what changes are made or not made not everyone will be happy. That is why their is state association meetings to take a vote. As far as the seeding itself it will never be perfect here in Ky or any other state. However I think the majority of people like the process of trying to put the top kids on opposite sides of the bracket. As long as I have been going to tournaments the brackets have always been a topic of discussion. If I had a choice of blind draw vs. seeding I would have to go seeding. The point I made on the my last post is that seeding is not always perfect and calling out people for teaming up to get what they want is silly. There is no conspiracy theory. There are to many variables that make it 100% accurate. I would have to imagine that most of the coaches that voted feel like they got it right. I say most. No matter what seed those top 16 kids in each weight are I can assure you they can all wrestle. They had to work their tails off just to have the honor to be in the state tournament. I say keep moving forward with the willingness to change. Im sure we will make mistakes but as a whole we can probably do some amazing things to make this sport grow. Finally I say come to the meetings and meet face to face with the ideas that are so easily typed on a public forum. Participation is the key to growth.

Congrats to Nathan Boston. He has been chosen to represent team USA at the 2014 Dapper Dan Classic. He is only the second KY wrestler to accomplish this feat. Simply amazing. I am sure that he is very honored to be chosen for such an elite event. Way to go Nathan!

This thread took on a life of it's own something I wasn't trying to achieve with my posts. I don't think it does the site or sport any good. Maybe they are the best tournaments anyone has ever seen, still doesn't give you common opponents in KY. I love Coach Matney, but I have heard crying about that mountain region for 20 plus years. Big school, small school, Inez, Paintsville, come here, can't go there, etc! Get on a bus and travel like everyone else. If a bus isn't provided, jump in a car.

That's great!! There were some very good wrestlers on that 2012 team. But all the individual awards in the world won't make a state runner up team better than any other team in te state EVER. So, no, someone with 12 post didn't just post something stupid. They ask a legit question and got a assanine answer!! Lol What was the national ranking for that team?? I couldn't agree more about the talent and overall quality of wrestlers that the 12' team produced or will produced. No denying that whatsoever.

No I doubt it , Khsaa made him set out till regionals his fresh yr ,and CC is losing matches because of weather and I think they had points or weigh inns left they didn't even use this yr and for some reason most of the varsity had to set out in their own only home dual meet so they lose matches there all very €|€{£}£ annoying when you have kids who are chasing records and live for it . He does have a very long win streak without a loss since sixth grade in folkstyle comp . A state and national title or gold medal placing at nationals every yr since then . Sure he may lose in HS but I don't know of any wrestler in Ohio or ky in recent yrs who can match that streak , and no Otto not BO he lost in HS his fresh yr after setting out a certain tourny for Graham .

Cold hard facts Wth are you talking about , CC 12 beat Union and Trinity both with nationally ranked kids and multiple champs lol there's your numbers. And facts , so far today the myth of 04 has been totally outdistanced by the modern day warriors of 12 who beat real teams not a bunch of teams on the rise but teams that were already there with studs on them . I would think the 90 team if they were ranked 25 in the nation although that's the last spot probably ranked would be a much more suitable candidate for best CC team . I will still go with 12 for sheer impact of studs and the attention it's Champs and team brought to the sport , no denying it they raises the level brought national attention to the school and state lol your 04 team can't touch them neither can the 90 team lol Real champs national level modern day butt kickers who turn heads across the nation not a bunch of decent wrestlers who won duiring a period of stagnancy in the state . the more it goes on The more 12 gets ahead , c
