IT IS OCTOBER 15!!!  The season is officially open!  With that excitement, I am posting a ranking update.  Hopefully, with everyone getting into practice over the next few weeks we will get a lot of updates on where weights stand.

ok ranger I know you are familiar with NKy schools and CC but some things are not going to happen.

1.  Corbin Woods will never make 130 he is weighing 145 (he plans on 135 maybe 140)

2.  Paul Hamilton will be at 130 if not 125 he is weighing about 133.

3.  Kent Bachman will not be as high as 152 (he plans on 140 maybe 135) He weighs 145

4.  Zack Fryer plans on being 125.

If everything goes as planned, it should be

My "thoughts" :wink: :

Hamilton can't cut weight.  If he walks into the room this week weighing 130, then maybe he will wrestle 130.  Bachman has a little work to do to make 140.  I don't see Stadtmiller dropping to 160.  I would say 90% chance he goes 171.  Mahoney doesn't weigh 171 in his football pads with his pocket stuffed full of football tees.  No way he is at 171.

I can tell you this Ranger Kent stepped on the scale this morning and was 144.6. 

He tells me he wants to try to make 135.  I don't think he can.

As for Hamilton.  I was told he was about 131 already.  (I didn't see it first hand though)

I agree that Stats will probably be the 171 and hopefully Grant comes out and wrestles 160.

Woods is an anomaly.  He fluctuates from 140 to 150.  He may actually end up the 152.  (He is the one who can't cut weight).  I've seen the boy eat first hand.  :-D

I know he lost to Brendan tuggle, but that was at the beginning of the season and it was by one point. That is the only person I'm 135 now he has lost to. He decisioned Garret knealey and beat willy jenkison both time they wrestled including a major at regionals and the only points jenkinson scored was from being let up twice. He didn't do well at state, but he had a leg injury and wasn't able to shoot on his dominant leg an still manage to tech someone. Also I think Eddie gagnon will end up at 19 and Leguan Grubbs at 152 Leguan says he'll make 145, but he weighs 160 now and I doubt the fat test will let him drop.

Not quite.  Paden has proven in the past to be a very good wrestler (top 3 in 2009 only losing to Fahy and beating Ruschell).  No one in this discussion is anywhere near that level.

I know you western ky guys have issues with the ranking of Jenkinson.  But what is the whole idea of this process?  To predict how they will finish at state.  Not the ABC invitational or even region.  Yes, there should be some consistency when guys meet up during the season, but when all is said and done the state tournament is what matters.  And Jenkinson beat a region champ on the big stage.  I haven't seen or heard about all of his losses.  That is one of the flaws with ranking or even trying to seed wrestling.  We can't get any consistent results.

I understand ranger. I have no problem with jenkisons ranking he's a good wrestler and he did well at state. I just don't see why pitman should be that low with so few in state losses

I would say it isn't due to losses, it is about who he has beaten.  I essentially only have the post season results to go on.  He didn't wrestle well at state and with little or no big wins (that I know of) during the season it is impossible to rank him high.  That's why I am always posting asking for updates.  Some info is ignored when it doesn't come from credible sources, but i am always looking for results.

Ranger, no love for the jones brothers (Lane and Logan) at walton? Walton also has Drue Schroer and Nick Tennabaum now, so keep your eyes open for them.
