Region 5 (Very Very Pre-Season)

Recommended Posts

If you look middle school wise:

North, OC have good programs.  South has fallen off.  Crosby is pretty good too.  And Trent Cox to Eastern?  More likely he goes to South or North since he'll be moving into their area.

South's program hasn't fallen off. They got 2nd in their region and only missed 1st by half a point.

I don't know that they have fallen off.  However, they took 3rd in the Region missing 2nd by a half point or so.  OC got first, Eastern got 2nd, and North Oldham got 4 by about a point or so behind South.  Very close between 2nd and 4th.  OC dominated, earning that 1st place spot.

I was talking about Middle School programs, not the high school regional placement.

I heard Tommy Warren will be eligible at J-town next year.  He should be weighing around 140-145.  That's just a rumor though.

Good for him, I hope Bam Bam has gotten his stuff together and is ready for next year.  Whether he's here at the Creek or at a rival in the region, I truly wish him the best

I wonder what the break will do on his technique? Being exiled from wrestling for  that long can do nothing but bad for a kid.

Warren was  always strong for his weight with decent technique.  He'll probably be slow/ rusty till January if he wrestles.  By regionals, he'll be pretty slick.  If he ends up at 145 he'll be taken to the cleaners by most of region 5.  If he ends up in Thomson's weight class, he'll probably take second, after getting spanked by Thomson.  If he ends up at 135, Shirey will be the one to spank him.

Tommy has a number of years of experience, I dont think it will take him long to get back into the swing. If he shows the same passion as before he will be in the hunt!

Maybe, he was decent, but for real, I think it's insulting to auto rank him above kids who have been out and wrestling.  Make him earn his spot like everyone else.

Agree. Until the season you don't know where he'll end up or even if he'll be wrestling.

That makes their lineup a little more tough.  Figure

140-Hinkle/ Thomson

145- Thomson/ Hinkle

152- Hendren/ Stuerle

160- Stuerle/ Hendren

From what I have heard he isn't the only transfer in Region 5.

I've heard:

One of South's lightweights (better) is going to OC

and

Eastern is losing a kid to north (one of their better).

This from parents/ kids at Region tourney.

I can't imagine Eastern losing any of their better kids. Most of them are pretty tied to the community! Who could you be thinking?
