hotlava 2 Report post Posted February 5, 2017 Brackets are out on trackwrestling. I think Wayne Co./Madison Central duke it our for 1/2 and then in the next group you have Tates Creek/Henry Clay/Boyle Co./McCreary Central/Danville, not necessarily in that order. I haven't seen Madison Southern/Whitley Co., not sure what they have. Lafayette has a couple high level guys but not much depth this year.

grimmnar 1 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Zeus, I just googled up trackwrestling, used the search feature, and I only put in Kentucky (under state). It had the Region 7 under the list (among others, but not hard to find) and I was able to browse the information from there. Hope that helps (: (Trackwrestling is squirrely when it comes to linking after getting to the event you've searched to. I've always had to restart from the search and never been able to link or bookmark a tourney directly. This is definitely NOT a complaint, just my experience (: , i think it's something with the pages scripting or 'engine' )
Zeus 117 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Thanks, I found it. Track is great in that everything can be done in the same place, but it would be nice if they made it more user-friendly.

Zeus 117 Report post Posted February 8, 2017 Can anyone justify why Region 7 seeds every wrestler? I would understand if trackwrestling sorted it all out for us but it just seems unnecessary and a waste of time. I think to be seeded a wrestler should have to have a winning record to begin with, and the seeds should only go through the top 6. An exception would be if a weight class doesn't have six wrestlers with winning records. Then I think you use the criteria and include all wrestlers, but still only go through the top 6.

Several do this, not just region 7. I know 1,5,7 and 8 do. In a large region like ours, often you have winning record 10 or 12 kids deep. Seeding all the way out gives these kids a chance to seeding criteria to proprely be seeded. If not you might have kids that are say 25-12 who should be a 7 seed having to go against a 3 seed in the first rd. I've always been a fan of seeding all the way out because there is a better chance the top kids come out, as they should. And fyi, track does do this for us. It goes by criteria we set and if head to heads are entered properly, it takes those into account as well. Only slight changes need to be made for common opponents

I must admit, this is a first. I've heard complaining about where a kid was seeded or how come they only seed top 4 or 6 or 8. But never this one. Perfect example of no matter what you do someone will find something to complain about. Hey kudos to all the coaches that dedicate their time to our boys and girls and spent the extra time to seed all the way through. If your wrestler happens to be 16 out of 16, oh well. Don't fault the coaches. Use it as a teachable moment.

The coaches with a lot of 1 and 2 seeds want first rd matches so they can get bonus points. In our Region there is 14 teams, so the 1 and 2 will never get a 1st rd match. Now with 2 top teams having a majority of 1 and 2 seeds, they rather not seed out so they can feed off the weak and rack up points.

So seeding 1- 14 will give the 1 and 2 a bye in 1st rd everytime. If 13 kids, 1,2, and 3 get byes. With random draw after say top 6, then 1 and 2 seeds can get matches in 1st rd and get more team points Ex: Wayne co has 4 #1 seeds and 2 #2. If we random drew and they all got matches and pin, they'd earn 12 more team points then they can with the byes from seeding out1-
