Ranger123 43 Report post Posted July 3, 2013 So I had a little down time this past weekend at St Paris Graham High School (Spencer at camp and Ryan working as a counselor) and made some updates. There are still a lot of individual weights that are up in the air, but some are clearing up as well. 106 1 Mc Cen Cody Stephens 12 2 DH Joey Skaggs 11 3 NH Jake Burroughs 11 4 Moore Toby Siddens 10 5 Ranger123 43 Report post Posted July 3, 2013 I think the team race may be very similar to the exciting battle we saw this past season. Same 3 teams. Will we see the same results?

Ranger123 43 Report post Posted July 4, 2013 Thanks for taking time out to do this Ranger. Awesome job as usual. My pleasure. Although I had to do something while I was waiting for Amy Jordan's world famous baked spaghetti and brownies. Once school starts up we usually hear a lot more chatter about how much kids have grown over the summer and who ended up at which schools.
Jim Frank 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2013 That's usually how it is every year. Pesky kids, eating and growing. What are they thinking anyway? I love the beginning of the season when there are a lot surprises in regards to weight and how much some of the boys have grown. Are you taking any wrestlers to the Bluegrass Games? KirkH 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2013 Glaring omission: Kyle Perkins, Franklin County, state qualifier at 170, even though he had to eat like crazy just to weigh 152. He even won a match at state. I've seen him at the gym and he has gotten a lot bigger.
Ranger123 43 Report post Posted July 8, 2013 Not sure about glaring. Looks to me like he went 0-2 @ 182 not 170. And he had to weigh over 162 to wrestle 182.

Since we're talking about glaring omissions I demand to be on there. Sure I'm not in high school anymore and I wasn't really that good even when I was. But man I have seen me work on the mat and my leg rides are nasty, I'm guaranteeing I am taking home the state title this year. I just need to find a way out of Ohio. JCB0577 17 Report post Posted July 8, 2013 Osborne from Ryle should be in there. He should be in top 10 in his weight class. My bad, Just noticed he is in at 106.
firemans34 33 Report post Posted July 22, 2013 Hey Ranger, thanks for taking time to put these up in the off-season. Very slow this time of year for finding something entertaining to read. Cool thing is you've got some weight adjustments and a fair amount seem reasonable. Keep them coming!

Zeus 117 Report post Posted July 26, 2013 Ranger, what's up with the two Hernandez brothers from Henry Clay? I can understand, although don't agree, with the smaller one since he will probably go up a weight but John was in the finals and surely would have done better against anyone other than Boston. Just seems like they are not getting the benefit of the doubt. Can you explain? By the way thanks as always for your efforts, especially in the off-season. Moving up I just think Austin and beeler were just as good at the higher weight. Then he lost decisively to poynter last yr. I will give you Owens; no good argument for that other than size. But I will fix that in the next iteration as I believe Owens will be heavier.

By the way I saw Mike Whalen a few weeks ago and he won't be at 126, not even close. Don't know where exactly but maybe as high as 138/145! He's also wrestling better than I've ever seen him; much better than his brother at this age.

I can vouch for the growth spurt of Mike Whalen...I saw him at the Campbellsville University camp and he looked every bit of 150 solid muscle.
