Haha, you been doing the rankings during Happy Hour?

Just kidding but you have shook up these team rankings

Just remember its preseason not alot of fact based data going into these rankings yet that matters.

1  Larue County

2  Fern Creek

3  Woodford County

4  Union County

5  Trinity (Louisville)

I think you still have to consider Woodford as the team to beat with Larue close behind and then the rest of the pack.

Good Job this is fun!

I have to agree with eville....ranger has 4 woodford wrestlers in the state finals....and finishing 3rd in state.  If anyone gets 4 in the finals, usually they win.  Hands down. I think he needs to go over that again.

In my opinion, Larue might win it all, but Woodford wouldn't have 4 in the finals for that to happen.

Winning the semi's are huge!  A lot of points.

I think they are bogus, but hey you don't see me doing all those so i can't really say anything.

There has been a team get five in the finals and get second so you never know.

Come on, don't hold back.  Tell me what you really think.  HA! HA!  Really, you can't make a statement like that without backing it up.  What's so bogus?

OK, if you want to put a lot of emphasis on the finals...

Larue - 2 finalists, 1 winner, but 9 other placers

Fern Creek - 3 finalists, 2 winners, 6 other placers

Woodford - 4 finalists, 3 winners, 4 other placers

Yes, it appears as though Woodford again has an edge when it comes to the spotlight, but ask Coach Canter and he will probably agree that the wrestlebacks buried them last year.  And I think that is where Woodford will struggle more this year.  Larue's experience will show up in those grueling rounds.

IMO:

103-Elliot will win state, he has more high school experience than arron carr

112-Looks pretty good, it will be close between Luna and Sullivan

119-Coty Lewis has told me that he is going 119, and if so he will beat Caleb

125-Voth is a good wrestler and person I hope he wins state

130-Someone on here said Warner moved back to Michigan so IDK, but i think Lucas Carmen is better than Derek Branch

135-Brandon Howard deserves to win after last years fluke

140-I think that Josh Ashbrook will win state

145-It is gonna be an all out War between Courtney and Banks,WOW

152-Looks alright except Blake Shehan should def. be higher, he has been working with Courtney all summer

160-Another awesome finals match

171-Looks good i think

189-I have a feeling that Mark Jones will beat Starks, he is out for revenge

215-I thoguth that Doug Winter was a Senior but if not he will do better than 7th

285-I think will be a good finals match

As far as teams go it will be between Larue and Woodford (Very Close)

140 daniel thueman wins it

145 pat banks

160 josh cooper

thueman and banks have been some of our better wrestlers for the past couple of years but just havent gotten the gold yet hopefully they can pull it off this year and the coopers always seem to pull off a state championship and josh is the last one yet to pull it off alots rididng on his shoulders and i think this will motivate him coming in to the season to go out there and win it.

I heard Eric Music the 140 from sc pinned Evan Smith over the summer in the 2 so should he be higher or up there with him Eric also lost to only by a point at the burbon bash

rumor has it that ben warner has moved back to michigan

I started this rumor and it's not true. His dad moved, but Ben stayed at Oldham this year. Sorry to get your hopes up.

Thanks for the info.  I haven't seen much of him, so it is good to get confirmation that he is deserving of being on the list.  BUT, as we have discussed on this forum before, you can't always take off season matches at face value.  Most of our kids still get way out of shape and don't show up ready to give 100%.  I'm not saying that is the case here at all.  But that is one of the things that is holding us back.  Instead of getting in an extra season of wrestling in the spring and summer (like the nation's best do) we are lucky to get guys to tournaments and camps.  I will admit we are making huge strides and are starting to get more competitive nationally, but we still have a long way to go.  That's a totally different topic.  Anyway, I will keep that match in the back of my mind down the road.

*Shaking fist at Coach Smith*

Sorry, alot of thing lead me to believe the rumor because he was not involved in summer wrestling whereas he was active the year before.

Come on guys! Why is noone saying Brian Peace's name in there? He's a stud, i think hes going to go 135 this year and wont be touched!! I guess getting second in sophmore nationals getting second in state says nothing for you crediblity... If he goes 140 which i could also see, i dont see him havin much trouble out of thunerman or ashbrook..No offense to both but having wrestled alot of guys ranked at 140 and wrestling peace a lot i just dont see it happening. You never see the wrestlers in Ryles program peak earlier and peace wont he will get better and more dominating trust me. I can see thunerman and ashbrook finishing 2 and 3 respectedly but wont beat peace...Kyle ruschell finished 2nd his sophmore year and went on to be a two time state champ, i can see the same thing happening here....

I have heard that a kid  just moved into the Ryle's school district from Michigan. A frosh or soph. Supposed to be a very good wrestler. If this is true, it is great to see good kids moving here from other states, regardless of what school they attend. Anyone have any first hand knowledge about this?

I agree that Peace is a beast, but I'm not sure he could handle Thuenerman.  Thuenerman is both quirky to wrestle and has the ability to wrestle with technique.  However, Thuenerman still needs to prove he can win the big one.

If Peace goes 135 no-one comes close to defeating him.  He may even be able to win MOW at this wt.

I'm a Peace fan, but that's a mouthful there (or would it be a keyboard full?)

I guess I should have said IMO on those comments :-D :-D

I still hope they all split up in region 6.

Peace, Thuenerman and Cooper that is.

Throw in Kyle Griffith, John Golsby, and Brad Denham.

If all of these seperate in wt. classes region 6 could have some tough region champions in the middle wt's.

130 Griffith

135 Peace

140 Thuenerman

145 Golsby

152 Cooper

160 Denham

Sure would be nice for region 6 if they could all win state next year. (not that I think it could happen.  Someone has to be in the wt. class with Banks and Harrison.

Griffith winning state after a come-back from knee problems

Peace dominating

Thuenerman finally winning the big match and getting his title.

Golsby becoming only the second person to win state for Holmes

Cooper fullfilling the family legacy of winning state as a Sr.

Denham Bringing home Dixie Ht.s first state championship.

(Hey I can dream can't I) :?
