Anyone have any info on injuries, ineligibility issues, etc that may have some bracket changes? I've only heard rumors of Landin Jones' arm injury (?) and Zachariah Jones' neck injury. Just curious if anyone can confirm any others that could bring extra drama to this week.

I don't want to upset anyone because Lord knows there's some great talent in every weight class.  And I have not seen a lot of the state this year.

106: Brendan Pye, SCOT

Thoroughly impressed with this kid.  Physic and Athleticism off the chain.

113: Adam Bender, WOOD

Been watching this kid for years.  Very strong and had paid his dues.

120: Brady Wells, Camp Co

I believe Yost has already won one.  I hear Insko is the real deal though.  I just think Brady is huge for the weight class and has been in the finals. Experience wins it.

126: Ryan Moore, WV

A lot of talent in this class.  Ryan has a motor and is tough under pressure.

132: Saul Ervin, UNIO

Beast

138: Bryce Sheffer UNIO

Im not counting Trent out.  I think he has the ability to win it.  Bryce has the experience in big matches. I think Bryce edges him on the mat.  Feet, theyre about even.  Trent better finish his shots or it could get ugly.

145: Joey or chance

It's a toss up.  Cant decide.  Both very tough

152: Cody Huston COOPER

Cody is solid through and through.  Zane is the man.  Fireworks in the finals.

160: Mason Smith WALTON

Time to get paid.  Blanton has been wrestling for what? 20 years. lol!  Should be a fantastic Semis.  Blanton is capable though.

170: Casey Cornett SK

Casey's going to be a 2xr

182 Max Andreoni, WOOD

Great kid.  Finally gets one.

195: Dont know enough to give an educated opinion.

220: Dont know enough to give an educated opinion.

285: Dont know enough to give an educated opinion.

I think Johnson beats Sheffer in the quarters and wins the 138 championship.  Upset special.  Watch out for Shantz-Meade County as another wrestler poised to steal a championship.  Wallace looks simply unbeatable to me...Stevens wins at 182...although Jett is having a great season and is flying a bit under the radar.  Definitely someone to watch.  Zane and Ervin, and Blanton are done deals.  Another guy with upset ability written all over him is Hanson...Your thoughts?

At 152 there is a guarantee that someone outside of the top 10 in Ranger's rankings will place in the top 6.  Jack Fuller is ranked at #11 and is the highest ranked in his quarter of the bracket.  So if the rankings hold true, he will wrestle in the simi-finals and is guaranteed at top 6 placement. Sunbom and Shelby ranked 22nd and 23rd both came out as region champs and are in the same quarter of the bracket.

You my friend may want to re visit your "locks" its the state tournament nothing is a done deal. Blackwell was a done deal a few years back, stephan meyers was a done deal a few years back, jayce carr was a done deal a few years back, it goes on. Im sure there are plenty of guys that would say they feel confident at those 3 you named, and rightfullyso. Now Ervin,  thats the safest bet of the 3 but the other 2 better bring it.

They all are going to run into kids that are undefeated in Ky. Stevens has just beaten Jett at 195 at regionals. Shantz has a tough road. Zane will have to get through an undefeated Huston and who knows how good he is? Blanton has to get through Smith.

Wyatt and Fooks (boco) are looking strong to me could be an upset against 132 lb. Arvin(union).Mattox (har) came in 2nd at regions, but looked impressive.
