eville dad 17 Report post Posted July 25, 2006 Both kids wrestled well losing only to some of the best wrestlers in their weights. John lost to Yant, OH and Pavo, HA both placing for All-American status.Ryan lost to Geiger, OR eventual winner, National Champion at 189lbs. John and Ryan are tough kids, they have wrestled well, representing the state well!Wish we had more kids here, but we are having a great time. Getting ready for Freestyle which starts Wed.Wish em luck!

It's not sad for the state that more kids couldn't afford to make the trip. It is sad for the kids. Wrestling in KY will continue if we send 20 kids or none, but there are only so many opportunities for the kids to showcase their talents on a national level. Look Murton last year at Frago, if its folkstye I heard he probably would have won the event.Freestyle is a animal we don't get much exposure to. Plus the scoring 2 out of 3 period or 6 point different. You better have your A-Plus game at the National level
