HardWork_Pays 2 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 Brackets are out and looks like some very good 1st round match ups and possible quarter and semi finals matches. So here is my mash up and predictions for state: 70-103 the rest will come tomorrow. Remember, i'm an old man who just loves wrestling and attends all Conner's matches. So don't kill me if you disagree with what I'm saying. I would love to hear everyone else predictions.70- Sorry guys not really familiar with this weight class since the team I follow closely doesn't have a 70 pounder. refdad 3 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 No D.W., but I am a realist. lets look at the results of state the last 4 to 5 years as well as tournament results. There are certainly good teams and good kids elsewhere but as a region I would be willing to bet region 3 has the most state placers as well as champions on a consistant basis. Good luck everybody at state.

refdad 3 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 :-o.. Would have never believed that. I stand corrected apparently. I am not sure exactly what teams are in what region now but I would have to think the majority of those numbers were produced by Union Co and Larue??

I am not sure exactly what teams are in what region now but I would have to think the majority of those numbers were produced by Union Co and Larue??If you went farther back in history you may be correct. If my memory serves, Gray and Campbell were pretty dominant in the early days, then Fern Creek picked it up. Recently, Union and Larue have been very strong. What I have been impressed with this year, with the limited view I have seen of the results, is the parody around the state. Middle school wrestling has really picked it up in KY. You can find studs in many programs all around the state. There are very few, if any, shoe in state champs and most weights have half a dozen kids who will battle it out for the title. Pretty awesome.
Indians40 2 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 Nice post Ranger, I agree with you 100%, all of these kids, their parents and coaches should be proud of what they have accomplished. To qualify for middle school state means quite a bit. Regardless of what happens at the state tournament next weekend all of these young wrestlers will be fun to watch as they filter into the high school level. Best of luck to everyone next week.Coach SutphinMontgomery County
