Ranger123 43 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 First of all, I want to congratulate Larue County on a fantastic victory this weekend. That was the best dual meet I have ever witnessed as a spectator. The Larue kids really stepped up to the plate and came through under all of the pressure. I was also impressed with Woodford County fighting back after being down 31-3. They almost pulled off the impossible comback against a great team. Because of such a gutsy performance in such a tense situation, you will notice these kids have moved up a bit. At 103, not much has changed. At 112, Carmen has moved up after challenging Lewis and beating Zarth. One of the biggest changes is at 119, where Voth takes over the #1 slot. With Wood's injury, I think Voth will be too tough. Also, Perez wrestled well to move up. At 125, no change. The next big change is at 130, where Jackson was awesome this weekend. He showed that he is back from his injury with some huge wins. I know he has lost to other guys earlier in the season, but he was tough Saturday. No change at 135 or 140. Banks controlled Courtney and takes over the #1 spot. No change at 152. Fyffe didn't handle the pressure well in the Larue match and Walls has been impressive, so a new #1. No major changes at 171, 189, 215, or 275. The teams have shuffled a bit, but no team moving up or down more than a couple spots. With so much action and no real reporting of individual matches, I am sure I missed some matchups between ranked kids or ranked kids losing to unranked kids. As usual, just let me know what I missed. One last note on the great final matchup at the state duals. In the prior 16 state dual championship matchups, the average margin of victory was about 19. Less than half have even been close enough where a two match swing would have made a difference (8 were decided by more than 20 points, 4 by more than 30 points). pick89 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Wanted to know if it is possible for you to get grades beside the kids name like the one from the coaches web site. I also think it is a great thing you are doing and kep it up. Noticed that at 189 the Dunbar kid has beat larue twice once this weekend by pin and has beat Henry Clay twice once by pin. Where are the team rankings? Region 7 looked good this past weekend with 3 teams in the top 6th.

grapplinfan 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 The individual ranks are pretty good, but i will bet a steak dinner Campbell Co places a WHOLE lot higher than 18th !!! 8)
Ridge215 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Corey Peters should be ranked way higher than he is, I dont know who all he has beat but I know from wrestling that he is better than everyone has him made out to be. I think he has just as good of chance that clark does at winning it all. What was the score the last time they wrestled?? Wasnt it close? I see him no lower than 3 or 4 on the medal stand. Go get "em" BiG Corey
Ranger123 43 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Ridge - I agree Peters could do well, but I haven't seen the results to prove it. I know he has lost to you, Clark, and Josh Young.

Olympic_wish 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Because it's a dual, and Woodford will and has raped Larue in individual tourney points.

MadDawg 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 At 135, how do you have the Central kid ranked so much higher than the DeSales kid when I've seen the desale's kid beat him twice at tournaments? Just wondering.
DSP125 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 i think corey mills should be ranked higher than nathan speck he won the one and only match against nathan speck at christian county i believe by major decision
Ranger123 43 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 I'll try to get a few responses into one post. I didn't see the brackets for Christian Co and these guys didn't place so I had no knowledge of the result. 135 (much like 125) has been complete chaos in Jefferson Co. Every meet brings a completely different order of finish. I gave Glover the credit for a strong finish at the Dragon. I now have the message that McKenna has beat him twice and will adjust accordingly. Regarding results from the state duals, blame coaches and others for not releasing any results. I was there for the last couple of rounds, but could only take in so much info. I have tried to get as many head to head matchup results as possible (and thanks a ton to those who have helped!!!), but the response has been minimal. It is up to you guys to pass on the info. littleschool130 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 I'm just wondering why Taso from South Oldham is still in the rankings? His brother told me he was out for the season with mono...No Trey Morlatt either?
grapplinfan 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Is Morlett really back ? My uncle heard the call come through when the paramedic was called when Morlett got hurt (he's a volunteer firefighter). He said the paramedics seemed to think the injury was devastating ... they thought a broken collar bone or something. Was it not broke, or did he just recover that fast ?
run_the_half 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 From what i was told, Morlatt is out for the rest of the year, with a torn muscle in his shoulder.
littleschool130 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 mr warner (ben and eric warner's dad) told me that trey had broken his elbow but they were hopin for him to be back by early january...i dont know if he is back for sure yet because we wont see oldham county again
grapplinfan 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Hopefully he is back, i saw it happen and it looked ugly. I hate to see that happen to anyone, and hope's he back in time for regions. If not, i wish him a quick recovery soon thereafter. From what i saw, it looked like his elbow but didn't know after what my uncle said. Since you say elbow as well, thats likely where the injury was.
Northern 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2006 Morlatt's elbow was dislocated with limited soft tissue damage. He worked hard through rehab and is back on the mat with 4 solid matches and wins since Feb 1.
