    top 8 hwt's

Nathan Gray from Tates Creek will make some noise at state also. He is only a freshman and his brother was a state champ at hwt from Tates Creek several years ago.

    top 215

The Dunbar kid pinned Nickel(Doss) and Roe(McMreary). Beat Chaffin at state duals 6-2 and lost to Chaney 6-8. So he needs to factored in somewhere.

    1st Round: Ranked vs. Ranked

I hope that everyone in the State Tournament would be ranked so that we would have good matches for every session. Everyone needs to stop crying about the State Tournament and just enjoy it because it is not going to change.

    region upsets

The Franklin Co coach has to seat out the first day. Phillips got kicked out because he chest bumped the offical and said something to him. Just remember wrestlers that locking in the crotch, locked around a leg or trying to switch someone does not stop a takedown. Rule states that a takedown is awarded when the top wrestler has the opponent off the base and is hip to hip.

    Cooper vs Murton

I can not possible see anyone holding murton to zero points for three periods.

Wanted to know if it is possible for you to get grades beside the kids name like the one from the coaches web site. I also think it is a great thing you are doing and kep it up. Noticed that at 189 the Dunbar kid has beat larue twice once this weekend by pin and has beat Henry Clay twice once by pin. Where are the team rankings? Region 7 looked good this past weekend with 3 teams in the top 6th.

    state dual

I think the state duals could move be moved from year to year from Lexington to Louisville and that way every other year it would be easier on the western and eastern teams. As for the coaches assications needs to put aside their like and dislikes for teams and envite the best teams from each regions. The excuse of turning down state duals becasue you have another comment should not be used. As a coach you should be striving to make it to state duals and leave that date open on your schedule. If you don't make it that year then I am sure you can either get in a smaller tourney our even take that weekend off and just have pratice. I do feel for the most part that the coaches do their best to get the right schools to come and I do feel every region should be represented. They can't make everyone happy so just move forward and we will see what this weekend holds in store.

103 Jon Voth lost to Adam Carr 2-1 and beat Dan Smith 13-7 for 3rd place. He should have been the 2nd seed.

    the importance of JV wrestlers

Great comments on JV wrestling. In order for Kentucky wrestling to grow and get to the next level we need JV wrestlings more than middle school. When kids become freshman and have been wrestling in middle school but can't make varisty right away they give up and quit. If we had a strong JV program throughout the state it would really help all programs. We need more JV tourney's for this kids to compete in, rather than enter varsity tournaments that they can't really compete in and place at.

Looking over the rankings and I think they are as good as it gets. Found just a few things. At 140 the Dunbar kid is 1-1 against the Franklin Co. kid with a pin to his credit and a loss of 4-10 but he lost this weekend to the Anderson Co. kid by 7-8. At 145 the Dunbar kid pinned the Wayne Co. kid in the first period. A lot things wil be soloved this weekend at the Big East. Some teams that haven't seen one another yet will get their chance at this tourney.

    Big East

The list of teams that will be at the Big East are:Ballard, Caldwell Co., Central, Eastern, Dunbar, Holmes, Holy Cross, Jefferstown, Manual, North Hardin, North Oldham, PRP, Southern, South Oldham, Trinity, Union Co. and Valley. Should be som every good matchesat the upper weights this weekend.

I didn't see Joey Sanders from Wayne County ranked anywhere. He is the defending State Champ.

    New & Improved Rankings

Looking at the rankings I think they are good but noticed a few wrestlers ranked ahead of people they have lost to this year and not in a close match. 189 has Larue ranked ahead of Dunbar after the Dunbar kid beat him 13-5 at Oldham County Duals. 171 Larue kid is ranked and Dunbar kid beat in a close by score but really not that close of a match. He scored his 2 pts because the Dunbar kid let him up.
