Coach of the Year- Each Region so far

Recommended Posts

As the season is in the thick of things, and WCI is over, and some teams have done regional duals:

Who would be your coaches of the year from each region and why (if you want)?

I'll start, even if I don't know most of the names.

Region 1 - I have no idea.

Region 2- John Hardin.  Duals and WCI.

Region 3- PRP?

Region 4- St X.  Very strong dual team.

Region 5- I have no idea.

Region 6- Bankamper or Ruschell?

Region 7- Carr?

Region 8- Upchurch.  Wayne is consistently good.

I couldn't pass up this opportunity to get another dig in at St X (since I hate them you know  )

Region 1: Union is the easy pick, but I'll hold off on that one to see who steps up

Region 2: without a doubt John Hardin

Region 3: not sure yet

Region 4: anyone but St X (actually Coach K is doing a good job, but since you X fans think there is some sort of conspiracy I guess I have to pick against you)

Region 5: Fiser (looks like South will find a way to be near the top)

Region 6: Bankemper or Ruschell

Region 7: Griggs (TC was the surprise team at the duals)

Region 8: Upchurch, maybe Matney (I've heard rumblings that JC could be much improved)

3 Dunno, don't care.

4 Anderson.

5 Fiser or Fulk; depends on duals/regionals

6 Ruschell.  Hands down.

7 Dunno, don't care.

8 Dunno, don't care.

Not 7 or 8, just don't really pay attention to them.  I have been more than outspoken on this board for my distaste for Region 3.

Come on guys, Gary Canter has LaRue County competing with schools more than double his size.

It is a "down year" & he is 1 match from beating John Hardin with the best talent they've ever had.

Some schools get transfers & move-in, Canter gets 4 8th graders.

He should be not only region 2 Coach of the Year but State wide....

This is not a award about who happens to have the most talent in a given year, It's who gets the most out of what they have.

Gary is one of the most respected coaches in KY wreslting history.

The fact that John beat Larue is a great thing within region 2 and makes everyone better.

It wouldn't surprize me for Larue to beat everyone this weekend at the region 2 duals part 2.

As for last year, Gary Canter had a better team then Keith Smith; but, an injury to Miller before state didn't allow the results to show.

Larue won the team duels North scored more than Larue at state.

We can't change the past just learn from it.

State Duals and State will be exciting to say the least. :-o :-D

St. X has a great coaching staff.  Along with coach K i think is Isaac Knable

Some of them don't recognize that the team rankings aren't dual rankings, so when the soundly beat a #7 team and come within a point of a #5 team and then get moved down in the rankings they get confused and angry and then their fans "think there is some sort of conspiracy"
