Okay, I finally stole enough "free" time to get this done. I didn't study for my Investments exam I had tonight. But hey, we have to have priorities right? For those of you who don't know, this is my prediction based on the way I see the brackets playing out. I didn't get to add as much interesting discussion as last year or add as many kids as last year, but that's what I get for procrastinating. Hopefully a few of you get a chance to read it over before heading to Frankfort. Enjoy.

Congrats to the Raider Youth. Dominating performance once again. Excellent job running the tournament. My hats off to all the volunteers from around the state pulling together for the best tournament yet. It's awesome to see so many teams lending a hand with tableworkers, scorekeepers, security and whatever else was needed. Great job to all!

Just curious, I hope to be moving there next year, is there a good reason why they use split mats instead of obtaining more mats to run the tournament? I have a Tot (6 year old, AAU terminology) that has wrestled in North Carolina, West Virginia, PA, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia and he has had a full mat everywhere we went. I could not imagine my 11 year old or even 9 year old wrestling on somewhere between 18 and 20 feet. Just seems there would be more breaks in action than wrestling. Just looking for some learning before I get there. I have over 18 years of time on or around the mat and the split mat thing is usually reserved for rookie events and small gyms. You guys were in a civic arena, please shoot me some thoughts on why for my own learning of what to expect when I get there. Thanks

I don't know who called anyone a name or insulted or discredited anyone specifically but I didn't mention any one team or any one kid. I however did see two teams in specific needing injury time quite often in the third period. If you didn't see this situation as a problem them apparently we just disagree on this topic. Faking injury time to get a breather only takes away the advantage the other kid gained by working harder throughout the season and is total b.s

Very good tournament. I was there all day and it seemed like things ran pretty well. The face off is nice and I'm sure the kids love it, but I wish there was some way to make it go a little faster. With only a couple of exceptions, it appeared as though the parents were much more well behaved this year.

Not sure exactly why the last thread was deleted but I'm TAing right now so I'll make it again. You assign point values to all of you picks. Higher point values for the safer picks, lower point values for your risky picks. Once you have done that, pick a tiebreaker, that is your guess of which team will win state along with the amount of points they will have. Finally you can do a Bonus where you pick a wrestler that you think will place higher then Ranger's predictions. His eventual placing minus where he was ranked determines how many points you get For example, I pick John Doe 14th at 140, but he places 6th. So I'd get 8 points (14-6=8) 14- Caleb Ervin (152) 13- John Fahy (125) 12- Brock Ervin (112) 11- J.J. Jude (171) 10- Kevin Cooper (135) 9- Aaron House (285) 8- John Lampe (160) 7- Brendan Darrow (215) 6- Bernard Ray (189) 5- Kyle Honeycutt (140) 4- Trae Blackwell (103) 3- Duncan Caddell (145) 2- Kyle Terry (130) 1- Will Bryant (119) Tiebreaker- Union (184.5) Bonus- Jerry Heywood 28th (145)
