Kentuckywrestling.com HS Rankings 2009/2010 - January 3

Recommended Posts

Okay, I'm finally getting around to the update.  With Christmas, New Year's, and a trip to Jordan's this weekend I haven't had much time to catch up on the results (thanks for all of the posted results).  I'm sure there is more to do.  We should see most everyone start to settle into weight and probably still a lot of shakeups to come.

Jamerian Killebrew 112 Christian county should be ranked also. he's beaten most opponents and almost beat little boone. but, dustin thomas 130 is no longer wrestling.

Also Fort Campbell should be ranked higher as a team... They beat Christian County as a team.. @130 Zach Green stuck the Apollo kid over the weekend.

I agree about 112 from Christian County.

Nice job Ranger. I agree about killebrew hes tough. also Leguan grubbs from PT stuck Zach Mitchell from apollo at moonlight duals. they were both at 152, but i think theyre both going 145. Also Justin Wynne Tilghmans 140 has only lost twice that i can remember to kentucky wrestlers, once to Dustin Thomas in a close match and the other i don't remember but he was up 8-2 when he was pinned. He also stuck austin dicken from eastern in the first period at the armstrong classic.

I believe the the fight for second place at the region 4 duals is going to be very close (as it was last year). I know that seneca has some very good wrestlers but i have seen the kids from stX at their best and i believe they can put up a solid effort against seneca. If they can keep from getting pinned and pull off at least one upset i believe stX takes second at the duals and goes to the state duals. By the way, when was the last time St. X went to state duals. it seems like i havent seen them there in quite a while?

Brent Feher isn't down yet it must have been someone else from apollo, but i agree fort campbell is wrestling good. I saw Zach greens match with Dillon hale i think he'll beat him next time.

they were invited to go last year, but the snow storm prevented them and the rest of kentucky from attending

i agree with apsu, fort cambell is better than 56 or whatever they are.

I agree that fort campbell is better than 56, but im pretty sure those rankings are based on individuals that are ranked. Fort cambell has a solid team and they can be a dangerous dual team, but to be ranked high they need more top 20 or top 15 wrestlers.

Hey, someone is paying attention.  One brownie point for killercradle.  I don't really care how any team finishes in any tournament.  If Ft Campbell shows up and beats Ryle or Trinity in the Flying Fish invitational it has NO effect on the team rankings.  They are based on individual finish at the state tournament which determines team score.  The Ft Campbell kids have to qualify and score points in Frankfort to prove me wrong on placement.  I mean no offense to those kids, but they are generally unknowns and these are really the first results I've heard from them.

Jerry hill nelson co beat boyles hwt danvilles and central hardin why isnt he ranked at all

FOR ALL IN ATTENDANCE...

First, do you have any idea who specifically he beat.  Most teams have a couple of kids at a number of weights.  So just because someone wins a match against a team doesn't mean he beat the right guy.  And second, everyone likes to focus on a couple of wins against certain kids.  But do you remember the matches they lost?  Post both sides and remember both wins and losses count.

Gavin Agnew hasn't lost in state this year and he beat Zack Sowder from scott. The score was close, but he dominated the match. If Sowder is second he should be higher.

killercradle, with your earned brownie point I will give you a detailed response.  This is a very good question.  Yes, he beat Sowder early in the season.  BUT, what earned Sowder a lot of credit from me was a big win over Lee.  That recent victory over last year's runner-up at 160 was impressive.  But I will go back and give the 171s another look just for you.

the pins came late, and only because of needed points. they were good matches and i look foward to watching the next. im just saying it was close and either could have won. both wrestlers, are talented.
