grappler-of-old 44 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Another thread brought this up. I actually thnk we should have 2 catagories here. The 1st toughest to place top 6. The 2nd the most balanced wt. class. (A class where several could have placed top in the state.) I don't have my picks yet. I just thought about this and decided to ask. grappler-of-old 44 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 OK I have my picks but 1st I will give you my criteria. This is based on what I have seen this last year, some of this comes only from the state tourney. I don't get to see as much as Ranger and some of the others on here. I first came up with a criteria that goes like this. "5" star == An excelant wrestler "4" star == A great wrestler "3" star == A good wrestler "2" star == An above average wrestler "1" star == An average wrestler The toughest wt. class would have the highest number of 5 star wrestlers. 145 had 4 "5" star wrestlers. 152 had 2 "5" star and 11 "3" star 125 had 2 "5" star and 5 "3" star 189 had 2 "5" star and 7 "2" star 103 had 1 "5" star and 5 "4" star 215 had 1 "5" star and 4 "4" star 160 had 1 "5" star and 3 "4" star 112 had 1 "5" star and 3 "3" star 135 had 1 "5" star and 2 "3" star 140 had 6 "4" star 119 had 3 "4" star and 3 "3" star 130 had 3 "4" star and 3 "2" star 171 had 2 "4" star Hwt had 4 "3" star Most balanced 140 Had 6 "4" star and 5 "3" star. (By far the most balanced) went 12 deep. 4 non placers Golsby, Stewart, Knight, and Sheehan. 119 171 145 The rest are about equal
Ranger123 43 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 I would add Ervin to your 5 star guys at 145 (assuming your 3 are Courtney, Banks, Aylor, Wilson). Didn't he beat Wilson a couple weeks before region?
grappler-of-old 44 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 I mentioned that I did not see much of many of these wrestlers. I based it on the state tourney. Ervin only defeated Winchester 5-1, Lost to Banks by 7, then for. his way out. What happened to Ervin to cause him to forfeit out? P.S. It seemed like there were a lot of forfeits this year at the state tourney.
Happy Pappy 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 I asked one of their coaches at the hotel and he said that Ervin reinjured his ankle. I believe he suffered the orginal injury a few weeks before state.
grapplinfan 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 Ervin originally got hurt at Christian Co invitational, the way i heard it. That was indeed, a few weeks before state.

grappler-of-old 44 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 Dragon no offence because I like the big boys, it is just I didn't think that any of the HWTs this year were exceptional wrestlers. I think there were many of them what were good wrestlers just not many great or exceptional wrestlers.
