KentuckyWrestling.com HS Rankings - 2006/2007 December 27

Recommended Posts

As always, lots of good updates thanks to the feedback from you guys.  Keep posting those results and sharing what you know.

On a side note, I have a request.  When I started creating these rankings I referred to them as "rebel" rankings because I was trying to create some noise about better rankings that better reflect where guys stand/ will be standing come February.  Now that I think I have gained some credibility and respect (thanks to lots of research and lots of input from you) and the support of this site, I have dropped the reference to "rebel" and ask that we all do the same.

How could Holmes possibly be ranked higher then Conner, when they only have like 5 wrestlers? Dont get it.. Other than that, nice job on the rankings.

Right now I have only 4 Conner guys ranked in the top 20, none placing.  Holmes has 2 with Golsby #4.  I'm guessing Conner will move up after we see some more results from them against the competition.  I know they are a young team and will get better throughout the year, but right now I don't see it.

I guess it depends on what aspect you are looking at it from irish.

I would say that Golsby was the aggressor the entire match.  Sanders did the same thing this time he did at the state tourney.  Stalled his way through the match with the legs in.  not doing anything with them.  Just a way to hold Golsby down.

Golsby dominated him on his feet.  Sanders just waited and did no offensive moves the entire match.

The suprising thing is that Golsby looked in better shape.  His coach said he was fighting a cold all week, but it is no excuss for him losing the match.

great job on the new rankings.i really like the changes at 135 both the southern kid and the doss kid are tough technical wrestlers. the prp kid at 130 seems a little high but i dont know who he has wrestled i did see the doss 130 billy cahill wrestle him, and where the prp kid was ranked i expected a closer match.

i think the rankings are looking good.thanks for all your hard work.

justin davis(east) should be higher. He only lost to malcolm jackson by one and was winning by 3 at one point in the match

Tell me who he has beaten ahead of him and he will fly up the charts.

What grade is Chui really in? On the KWCA rankings it says he is in the 11th but on here it says 12th. :?

I looked at the state tournament results from the last 3 years and they have him as a freshman in 2004, sophomore in 2005, and a junior in 2006.  That would make this his senior year.  No one has told me any different.

Rankings look good. A couple of questions though. How long will Luna be ranked at 119lbs. Also who is Terrance Demery, is he good never seen him wrestle. Also is Coty Lewis really going 125lbs, i heard he was going 119lbs. Can he not make weight?

I'm sure I saw Coty Lewis (with his championship ring) at a Fazoli's last Friday night - to me it  looked more like he was going for 152!!!!!  He certainly looked a loooooong way from 119!

Golsby did come out being agressive but beau handled it. Golsby didn't seem to look in better shape almost passing out  on the mat. no he didn't stall his way through the entire match either he worked moves.

I don't want to pull Luna and then add him back a week later.  So I have tried to be patient.  If he misses the WCI and Jeff Co tournament then I will drop him.  Demery is a young guy from North Hardin.  He has done well early this season and earned a spot on the rankings.  I don't know any details about Lewis.  But based on how he lets himself get out of shape in the offseason and missing much of this season I would expect him to be heavier rather than lighter.  Plus, he would have to take the spot from Parks.

sheeves he almost passed out because his head bounced off the mat during the match. Must be the perspective of the match.

I thought it was pretty cold of his coach not helping him off the mat.  I heard him tell golsby it was his fault that he allows sanders to stall out the match, because he allows him to throw legs in.

What's up with that??? that's cold man.

King- I wouldn't say his coach didn't help him off the mat.  He motioned for his coach and everyone else to leave him alone.  I also have to agree with Sheeves....Sanders was working his moves through out the match.

Yes, John Thomas from Central, did wrestle 140 on Saturday.  He made the weight because of the two pound allowance.  I think about a month ago he was weighing around 147, so he only had to cut about 5 pounds in a month to make 140 / 142.
