Nov. 29th (Woodford Duals- Tri Meet)

Recommended Posts

Two weeks from tonight the season kicks off with some very exciting match ups right away!

Woodford County will be hosting Central Hardin and Taylor County.  If you live in the Central Kentucky area this will definitely be something fun to watch! Wrestling will begin at 7:00pm.

This will also be a great warm up / test for Woodford because Saturday December 2nd we will be traveling to Mater Dei, IN for a 5 way dual meet that looks to be very tough!

We hope so. That’s why we are traveling 3+ hours!

We used to go to Evansville all the time but haven’t been in a while so when we got the opportunity this season we had to jump on it. We are going for the competition because I know they are tough over there!

We went to Evansville every season when I wrestled in middle school. We competed against Memorial and Reitz a lot. Also used to go to Mater Dei  for an annual offseason tournament.

Gotcha, thought you meant high school team went to Mater Dei Tourney that UC, Trinity, and St. X go to. Evansville has some great wrestling schools for sure. I know its not easy for you guys but its definitely a great experience and hope you represent well.

Although I’m sure Ronan would wrestle all 14 weights if we needed him to, he only wrestled at 145 last night. Lol. Cardwell was at 132 and Bender was out due to being sick.

Looks like a pretty good showing for Woodford right out of the gates. I should have stopped by Woodford High School on my way to Lexington for Thanksgiving. Would have been nice to roll around with some of the old guys there.

Mater Dei is solid!!

They spanked our tails. But they spanked everyone that day as well. Woodford ended up 3-1 on the day.

Rd 1- WC vs Mater Dei, IN (68-0 MD)

Rd 2- WC vs Belleville Althoff, IL (42-30 WC)

Rd 3- WC vs Carbondale, IL (45-25 WC)

Rd 4- WC vs North Posey, IN (48-22 WC)

Great experience and great competition for our team. Bouncing back to beat 3 really good teams after getting thumped first round was impressive.

Very few teams in KY would match up well with them. They are hammers. Props to them.

And that is no diss at all to KY but they’re good!
