crazyotto 381 Report post Posted January 17, 2017 Somebody asked about him on another thread. Since I started threads about a few other wrestlers might as well get a Trae thread going. He is having a tough go of it this year, 2-8. Wrestled last year at 141, dropped to 133 this year. Struggling with the cut? Don't know. Some huge matches coming up. I always see the big matches as a chance to take a step forward. He lost a close one to #5 Kaid Brock, 10-7. He will get another shot at him in a few weeks. Before that though, he has Hall, Gross, and Alber. All are top 10 guys, or close to it. He did not wrestle v Missouri. Rubio went 33 and Longo went 41. The last match I saw of his was vs Mark Grey. An 8-5 loss. Grey was a high school stud out of Blair Academy. Though his ranking doesn't reflect this, he is a stud. Battling injuries the last two seasons. Hoping Blackwell gets back on the winning side.
Old wrestler 92 Report post Posted January 17, 2017 This isn't a knock to Trae, but I'm pretty shocked by his record. I certainly don't have any inside information, so the weight cut may be to blame? Keeping it within 3 of Brock (Oklahoma State) is a testament to his skill set. Hopefully with the addition of Roselli (assisted with Steiber at Ohio State), he will progress.
wildcat2002 190 Report post Posted January 17, 2017 Thanks for the update. The grind of the cut will drain you. Hope he bounces back. 2
