luvswrestling55 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2015 Has the number of entries gone up over the past few years. I remember seeing wt classes with only 2 wrestlers. Not sure why, it is marketed well and is a great venue with adequate support. Anyone have any ideas how to increase participation?

gpikul 20 Report post Posted March 5, 2015 Attention Wrestling Fans / Participants / Volunteers: The KWOA Spring Classic scheduled for March 7th @ Central Hardin High School has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The tournament will be re-scheduled for April 25th at the same location. Additional details regarding the rescheduling will be available shortly at www.kyofficials.com. We apologize for any inconvenience, however the safety of our student athletes, their families, and Central Hardin & KWOA volunteers is of the upmost importance. It was necessary that this decision be made as early as possible so those individuals with travel and lodging arrangements have adequate time to change their plans. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing all or you for a fun day of wrestling at the later and hopefully much warmer date. gpikul 20 Report post Posted April 24, 2015 I regret to inform everyone that this year's KWOA Spring Classic has been cancelled due to low attendance. We apologize for an inconvenience that may cause to the wrestlers, parents, and coaches who had registered to participate in our event. The KWOA takes pride in running a quality tournament that has seen between 275-300 wrestlers each year and would not feel right hosting an event that would not be able to deliver the quality competition that it has in the past. The weather this season as well as the postponement of the KHSAA State Tournament has affected attendance at all tournaments this season and has hurt the number of wrestlers registered for this season. Once again I apologize for an inconvenience and we look forward to hosting a productive & successful event in 2016.
