Region 1 Rankings 1/29/14

Recommended Posts

Nobody ever sympathizes with the rankers, we aren't allowed sick days.

106

1. Saul Ervin, Union County (1)

2. Kaleb Sapp, Ohio County (2)

3. Luie Regaldo, Fort Campbell (3)

4. Eric Gonzalez, McCracken County (UR)

5. Devontae Turner, Trigg County (4)

6. Daniel Knight, Christian County (5)

Gonzalez with a huge win over Turner moves him up to 4th, but Turner can easily come back from that hiccup and has had wins over Gonzalez before.

113

1. Bryce Sheffer, Union County (1)

2. Anthony DeWitt, Fort Campbell (2)

3. Jack Haynes, Calloway County (3)

4. Froilan Agulto, Christian County (UR)

5. James Whitaker, Caldwell County (4)

6. Dakota Himes, Ohio County (5)

I really should take Anthony out of these rankings since he's been hurt for so long, but eh call it my bias. Agulto moves... back in? with a win over Whitaker, he could easily over take Haynes for third.

120

1. Robbie Dezember, Union County (1)

2. Wes Gray, Caldwell County (2)

3. Camerin Cole, Christian County (UR)

4. Derek Miller, Paducah Tilghman (126)

5. Scott Ruttman, Calloway County (3)

6. Daniel Dyess, UHA (4)

Cole is back but was unable to wrestle Gray at the Christian/Caldwell dual because coaches hate making this job easy on me, keep an eye on that matchup, I favor Gray for now. Also Miller has cut down to 120 for some reason, another guy to watch for 2nd. This weight just got a hell of a lot tougher

126

1. Trae Blackwell, Union County (1)

2. Caleb Austin, Christian County (2)

3. Jeremiah Kline, Trigg County (3)

4. Chance Collins, UHA (5)

5. Austin Zeppes, Calloway County (6)

6. Chris Barham, Graves County (UR)

Outside of Miller dropping not much to report.

132

1. Brock Ervin, Union County (1)

2. Chandler Martin, McCracken County (UR)

3. BJ Miller, Ohio County (2)

4. Connor Jaschen, Hoptown (3)

5. Dalton Putty, UHA (5)

6. Nicholas Walls, Calloway County (4)

Martin cuts down to 132 and gets a big result over Jaschen, he has a history of pulling off upsets so keep an eye on him. I also fixed it for Martin's result over Miller

138

1. Chris Gilkey, Caldwell County (145)

2. Brian Hedrick, Fort Campbell (1)

3. Jackson Oxford, Union County (2)

4. Daniel Ingram, Trigg County (4)

5. Ryan Bunch, Ohio County (3)

6. Diion Leavell, Christian County (5)

This weight just got a lot more interesting with Gilkey's cut, setting up a rematch between him and Hedrick of Fort Campbell, and of course Oxford is still waiting in the wings but has already dropped two matches to Gilkey.

145

1. Chad Gahafer, Union County (1)

2. Kevi Matlock, Christian County (2)

3. Isaiah Frank, Calloway County (152)

4. Ryan Gallogly, Trigg County (4)

5. Corbin Ryder, Fort Campbell (5)

6. Ivan Lawson, Hoptown (UR)

Frank returns to 145, and this is still a really tough weight.

152

1. Keegan Agnew, Caldwell County (1)

2. Robert Bussell, Hoptown (2)

3. Kobe Perry, Christian County (UR)

4. Jaishon Faishon, Trigg County (5)

5. Gary Walker, McCracken County (UR)

6. Allen Dickinson, Calloway County (UR)

I have coughed all over these rankings, so if there's a mistake you can go find it.

160

1. Nathan Williams, Hoptown (1)

2. Avery Buckman, Union County (2)

3. Kenny Sells, Christian County (152)

4. Jeremy Hackworth, McCracken County (4)

5. Will Crabtree, UHA (5)

6. Mario Perez, Calloway County (6)
Sells wrestled Buckman really close so keep an eye on that.

170

1. Ki Ryder, Fort Campbell (1)

2. Xavier Pate, Christian County (2)

3. Kane Morris, Union County (3)

4. Isaiah Lawson, Hoptown (4)

5. Rustin Burkeen, Calloway County (5)

6. Jared Turner, Paducah Tilghman (6)

I believe for best lineup this is what Hoptown is doing from 160-182 although technically little Lawson is a 160

182

1. Devin Smith, Union County (1)

2. Gino Haywood, Fort Campbell (2)

3. Isaac Lawson, Hoptown (3)

4. Jacob Harris, Christian County (4)

5. Tyler Wilson, Calloway County (5)

6. Collin Feezor, Graves County (6)

Couldn't find anything here

195

1. Aaron Stevens, Trigg County (1)

2. Cole Sherman, Union County (2)

3. Kajwan Majors, Christian County (3)

4. Mario Miles, Hoptown (4)

5. Cody Jackson, Calloway County (5)

6. Enrique Martinez, Fort Campbell (6)

I'm about to pass out so I'm gonna post, let me know of missed results in upper weights

220

1. Zach Farris, Ohio County (1)

2. Tevin Toler, Christian County (2)

3. Bryan Carter, Union County (3)

4. Colby Culver, Calloway County (4)

5. AJ Ogburn, Fort Campbell (5)

6. Eugene Butler, Hoptown (6)

See 195

285

1. Raynel Brown, Union County (1)

2. Noah Kennedy, Caldwell County (3)

3. Jake Jorstad, Fort Campbell (4)

4. Dominic Hephner, Paducah Tilghman (UR)

5. Luke Shaffer, Ohio County (2)

6. Dezjuan Owen, Hoptown (5)

Well updated thanks to halfhalfhalf. I really have no idea how to rank it, this is why I hate heavyweight everyone beats each other.

Team

1. Union County (52)

Another week down, another week closer to Union running away at regionals

2. Christian County (23)

Christian County is finally in second like I thought they would be last week. This time buoyed by the return of Sells and Cole.

3. Fort Campbell (19.5)

Needs a lot of kids to perform well coming off injuries if they want second place.

4. Caldwell County (16.5)

Caldwell gets a huge jump with Gilkey's weight cut, if they get a couple good results at regionals they could get 2nd.

5. Hoptown (14.5)

Suffering a little bit from having too much talent grouped around a cluster of weights, can't really call them a dark hose anymore ,now a known major threat. Ohio County takes a hit from Bunch losing to Ingram, waits in the wings alongside Trigg and Calloway. McCracken County is the best of the rest right now, buoyed by having a proven talent like Chandler Martin on the team.

6. Ohio County (11.5)

7. Trigg County (10.5)

8. Calloway County (9)

9. McCracken County (5.5)

10. Paducah Tilghman (2.5)

11. UHA (2.5)

12. Graves County (1)

Mario Miles wrestled at 182 at Calloway last week. @ 195 Orr from PT pinned Cody Jackson from Calloway in the finals. @ 132 Martin should be 2nd pinned B.J. Miller in finals.

I think what Hoptown is gonna do is bump all those guys up at regions, if you notice little Lawson was at 160 with Nathan Williams which can't happen at regionals. Thanks for the Martin result though, I was having trouble getting results from that tourney

There is a thread called titled Laker Invitational that has the results. Can't speak to trackwrestling or any other source, but I did update that link and gave props to Martin, he looked impressive

It helps but I wish I could have brackets for those things, there a lot of minor results you can miss with just the final results. I'm annoyed I missed the Martin result, that was the only final result I think I straight up missed.

Was curious so I looked into how many qualifiers each school would have based off of these rankings. Numbers in parenthesis are how many region champs out of how many finalists they had. I think it's fixed, lost count with all the Union finalists

Union County- 13 qualifiers (8/10 Champs)

Christian County- 10 Qualifiers (0/4 Champs)

Fort Campbell- 6 Qualifiers (1/4 Champs)

Caldwell County- 4 Qualifiers (2/4 Champs)

Hopkinsville- 6 Qualifiers (1/2 Champs)

Ohio County- 3 Qualifiers (1/2 Champs)

Trigg County- 5 Qualifiers (1/1 Champs)

Calloway County- 3 Qualifiers (0/0 Champs)

McCracken County- 3 Qualifiers (0/1 Champs)

Paducah Tilghman- 2 Qualifiers (0/0 Champs)

UHA- 1 Qualifier (0/0 Champs)

Graves County- No Qualifiers (0/0 Champs)
