seriously ,i thought this was a thread about games wrestlers play to sharpen their skills and have fun at practice ,

JEEESSSHH King of the matt is probably num 1 and own the bone is up there ..

The ultimate wrestling game???

Take a towel wrap it up tape the ends split your kids up according to sise from smallest to largest two of each number ,

All your set of numbers from 1up to how ever high goes to one side all the others on the other side each side lays flat down on one side of the mat

All your numbers should be about even in sise put the towel in the center of the mat then call a number your wrestlers have to get up and get the towel /Bone back to their side no matter how using wrestling moves etc ,whover wins usually sets while the other side hits ten push ups then the coach calls another number making sure everyone gets a turn then it gets fun , you call out two numbers at once then four kids are battling for the bone /Towel

You probably call it something else !!

Lets turn this thread into what are the best wrestling games to sharpen skills and have fun at practice.  Im pretty sure i know what King of the Mat is, but Mpire can you explain your game?

We do one called sumo. You start in the small circle like u would a match. You say go and they they to to push each other out of the circle or get a takedown in the circle. 1 point if you push them out, 2 if you get a take down. We usually go to 3 just to make it fast. Teaches kids mat awareness and to control their body in tight spots. And great for balance and helping them find a good center of gravity.

Okay ,im not the best at explaining but i will try again ,you line up your team from smallest to largest then start at the number one the first two smallest guys are both ones the next two are twos the next two are threes and so on up to however many you have ,

Your first numbers, ones to however high go to one side of the mat the other numbers from one to however high go to the other side of the mat everyone lays flat on their stomach so now you should have two teams from one to however high on each side ,place the taped up towel wich should be rolled longways and taped up in the center of the mat ,

To begin you call a number whatever you want from one to how ever high your wrestlers numbers went ,those numbers will run out and battle for the bone so if you call one ,your two smallest guys should be running out to grab the towel /Bone -whoever gets back to their side first wins the other side usaully hits ten push ups - call everyone as best you can then start to call more than one number say four and five then you will have two kids from each side trying to get the bone /towel tell them to use wrestling moves legs whatever to get the towel back to their side no dirty stuff just fun .

 

I woudnt call out ones with say twentys ,because the little guys could get hurt

our kids club does that "chicken fight"hop on one foot and knock each other down and shoelace tag ,"not enough cloth to go around"

Sumo is real good stuff ,anything competitive kids will work for !

We used to play one called chess or king turtle and we did it at U of L the other day. Kids are divided into 2 even teams. All team members get on knees except for one on each team. The one standing on each team is the king and the ones on their knees are the pawns. The goal is to take the other teams king down but you can also eliminate other pawns by turning them to their back. Once a king has been taken down, GAME OVER!
