Saw a great quote yesterday from an article titled "No Superman out there" If you want to be successful in this sport you have to have a blatant disregard for rankings. Does the higher ranked wrestler get spotted a few points? Do they get to start with a leg? Do they get a gun and you get a knife? Make sure you wrestle the opponent and not their ranking. No one can bring their medals on the mat with them. You gotta go out and prove it every day. No one wears an S on their chest. And even if he does find his Kryptonite. Everyone is vulnerable everyone is capable of being beat. Stop giving a darn who you wrestle or what they are ranked. Wrestle aggressively and focus on the two things you can always control: Effort & Attitude.

I think it was a very well ran tournament that was quick, efficient, and had some really good wrestling. Floor control is a problem at most tournaments but is rarely enforced. It's not hard to respect to simple request to stay off the floor. It makes it easier for the refs and table workers if the floor stays clear. Not to mention that the Mc for tournaments generally just announce what they are told to announce by the tournament director.

I have to say that I am not surprised to see this. This woman made the event almost unbearable. She kept the microphone glued to her hand harping on everyone in the gymnasium. Having the parents, etc., remain in the stands is one thing, but the wrestlers, coaches, AND media?! Clearly there was an exception to the rule for her school and Oldham county because they consistently remained on the gym floor. If nothing else, an entire gymnasium full of people boo-ing her every time she began her tangents should’ve been enough to tell the school she needs to go! What an embarrassment to the school. One thing was for sure discussed afterwards among many teams and that is that we will not be returning for this event as long as this woman is there.

By far one of the worst experiences I have had at a wrestling tournament. The announcer lady was unbearable, she continued to yell at people over the microphone all tournament! Before placement matches she made everyone leave the floor including wrestlers coming up, photographers, and statisticians. With the only exception being the South Oldham wrestlers, coaches, photographers, and state people. She stopped all wrestling and began yelling at people over the mic until everyone was in the stands. Shortly after this, she began yelling at people for sitting at the railing surrounding the gym because people could not see but the reality was there was not enough room for everyone to be in the bleachers, and photographers and stat3e people were just trying to do their job. Unless you were the weight class on the mat you could not be on the floor, my son had to warm up in the stands before his match because there were police officers at every set of stairs. I definitely do not recommend this tournament!!!

I’ll start off by saying this has always been a great tournament in the past, but the female announcer needs to be replaced. I’m not sure where the control issues are coming from, but this lady needs prayer. She is making the tournament miserable for both wrestlers and parents. I heard several teams say they would not be back because of her behavior. The deputies called in to “ police “ the crowd were even annoyed by her behavior.
