Middle School National Duals Results

Recommended Posts

Team Kentucky performed extremely well at the USA Middle School National Duals in Danville, Il on April 1st & 2nd. The first match was versus Team Heffernan(St. Ed's) and KY was clearly outmatched at most weight classes. The kids wrestled great in the 2nd dual vs. Wyoming. KY won 14 of 21 weight classes. The next dual vs. Indiana Blue was competitive in nearly all weight classes but Indiana came out on top winning 14 matches. The last dual in our pool competition was the highlight of the weekend for the team. KY had never beat a team from Illinois before. This time, vs. Illinois Copper KY won 14 weights and won the dual. Ky was placed in the 8th - 16th bracket for the 2nd day of wrestling. Our 1st match on Sunday was vs. Kansas Red. The dual was very competitive with only 2 of 21 matches ending in pins. Thru 160 lbs. the dual meet was a tie. Kansas finished up with 4 wins to take the victory. The next dual was vs. Ohio Black. This dual was also very competitive with the first 18 matches being split 9 - 9. Ohio finished with 3 wins to take the dual. Our last dual was with Illinois Top Dogs. KY won 9 of the 21 matches to keep the score close, but Illinois came out on top. This was by far the most competitive KY has been at this tournament. We won 63 individual matches vs. 83 losses.
