tc125 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 records only count for the weight that is being seeded.unless you have common opponents from another weight. say supe had wrestled 125 all year until regionals and dropped down, and so did another wrestler in his region. or a 119 had bumped up to get better competition, and they had bpth wrestled the same wrestler. it could be used as seeding criteria. (If you know the seeding plan, that is)http://www.khsaa.org/handbook/tournamentrules/wrtournamentrules.pdfVI) Regional Seeding Meeting and TournamentA) Attendance and Required Documentation1) The specified reports from the NWCA system that show boththe minimum weight and match by match weights shall bebrought to the seeding meeting for the region tournament bythe coach or designated school representative of each schooldesiring to participate.2) A wrestler may not be entered in a region tournament unlessthe weigh-in verification records are completed via the NWCAsystem. Seeding Meeting Procedures1) The regional manager will coordinate a meeting of participatingcoaches for the purpose of making region pairings in eachweight class by seeding the participants.2) The Advisory Committee member from the specific region shallchair the meeting and be responsible for compliance with theTournament rules.3) Each school shall have a representative at the seeding meetingfor the region tournament or that school may not enterwrestlers.4) Those present at the meeting may conduct the business of theregion meeting including completion of the seeded brackets. Ifvotes are taken, each school may only have one vote.5) Collectively, the schools shall decide the seeded wrestlers ineach weight class. For regions without an adopted seeding plan, the following criteria may serve as a guide:a) Head to head competition between contestants. The record against common opponents;c) A contestant with a better overall record;d) A contestant with an exceptional record against acknowledgedstrong competition;e) A returning champion or runner-up in the same weight class;
