wkywrestling 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 I am trying to start a wrestling program at a local high school which has never had one before. The administration is for it but they claim that assuming more males would participate that it would put the school over the Title IX limit. I am being told that Title IX is determinied by male participation vs. female participation and dance team and cheerleading does not count. Had anyone else come up with this problem and is there a solution?Thank you.

CoachK 2 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 I don't believe title IX is truly an argument as females are allowed to wrestle as well. Contact julian Tackett at the KHSAA, he should be able to help. Or Coach Fiser at South Oldham would probably help as well. if you go to khsaa.org you can get to Julian's email address as well as a list of current coaches. Fiser should be on that list too. bulldog-leader 56 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 The KWCA made mention this year at the state tourney that they will help support any new schools/teams. If you contact one of the board members they can help you.
