National Prep School or New England Champions and runners-up are also eligible. Exceptions are made for the following states: California will qualify the top eight in each weight class because they have more than 800 high school wrestling programs and only one state championship. New York, New Jersey, and Indiana will qualify the top four wrestlers due to single-class state championships and past performance. The top four place finishers in the high school division of the NHSCA National Open Wrestling Championships are also eligible. One wild-card entry per state (to be determined by committe) will also be permitted. THERE WILL BE NO WALK-IN OR LATE WRESTLER'S REGISTRATIONEntry / Insurance Fee - $45Location - Virginia Beach Convention Center, 2101 Parks Avenue, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23451Weight Classes - 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, 285There will be one weigh-in for the entire event with a 3-pound weight allowance example: 103 weight class will be 106 poundsYou cannot enter a weight class below the lowest weight class you wrestled during the 2007-2008 wrestling season. However, you can enter the same weight or any weight class higher. There is no penalty for going up a weight class onsite.Matches - All matches will be 2, 2, 2 in the championship bracket. All consolation matches will be 1, 11/2, 11/2. There will be full wrestle backs for all consolation matches.Awards - The top eight place finishers in each weight class will receive awards as well as official recognition as High School Sophomore All-Americans. An outstanding wrestler as well as most falls in the least amount of time awards will be given at the conclusion of the finals. You must be present on the awards stand at the finals in order to receive your award. simple-man 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2008 i see where travis sullivan has signed up. way to strap up your boots and get back to work. place or not i think he will represent ky well. i think it says alot about his character. i think with his perfect record not being on the line he will wrestle more offensive. it seems he was wrestling not to lose instead of wrestling to win. good luck travis.
