1. Ramos Olympic Club (ROC) -- FREESTYLE WRESTLING.  Coach Ramos is a former Olympian (1994, 8th place) with extensive experience competing and coaching at the highest levels of our sport. This club starts March 1st and is held Tuesdays & Wednesdays 6:15-8pm. SEE ATTACHED FLYER.

2. Maurer-Coughlin Wrestling Club (MCWC) -- FOLKSTYLE & FREESTYLE WRESTLING.  This nationally-ranked club is out of Evansville, Indiana and has trained some of the best high school wrestlers in the nation. Coach Maurer and Coach Coughlin have developed a great system.  This club starts March 2nd and will be on Thursdays from 6:15-7:45pm.  SEE ATTACHED FLYER.

I'm always in favor of the more off-season programs and clubs.  Am I missing something about Coach Ramos though?  I'm pretty sure the Olympics were in 1992 and 1996, or are you referring to the World Championships?  If this is a typo about the year or name of event then please disregard my question.

Great to see the commitment from the new staff at Louisville Trinity. Also great to see that Blake is back contributing after breaking his neck at Ohio State. I say within the next couple of years, you will see Trinity running with the Big Dogs again.

I had the pleasure of watching Maurer and Coughlin compete in High School. Maurer was the best High School wrestler I've ever witnessed on the mat in my 25 years of coaching. Coughlin not to far behind. If these young men coach the way they wrestled, your kids will benefit greatly.

Coach Ramos is having a free intro practice on Wednesday (March 1st). This Club is focused on High School and Middle School wrestlers with at least a year of experience. Doors open at 6pm with practice starting at 6:15. The wrestlers must have a USA Wrestling Card.

Coach Ramos is a great coach and has a very impressive resume (Olympian-8th place in '96, World Cup Champ, PanAm bronze, etc). He also helped coach the Cuban Olympic Team and the Mexican National Team. He teaches different stuff -- his warmup, technique, conditioning, etc are all unique.

We had our other club (Maurer-Coughlin out of Evansville, IN) start last Thursday. There were about 30 kids, including several IN state champs and place-winners. They got after it and had a great practice.

Practices are in the Trinity Wrestling Room, located behind the school on the 2nd floor of the Marshall Center.
