State Scoring Without Seniors

Recommended Posts

Below are the top ten scoring teams from this year with seniors removed.

1. Trinity                     132.5

2. Campbell County     98

3. St. X                         93

4. Ryle                          87

5. Union                        86

6. Fern Creek               83.5

7. Lafayette                  78

8. Woodford                 77 (51 if Carr moves back to Dayton)

9. Oldham                    54

10. Dixie                      51.5

Trinity starts with a big lead but  both Campbell and Union have several light weights that will step into the lineup and contend right away. Ryle won the Middle School title in a close battle with Union when next years seniors were 8th graders. That was before Meyers was at CC. You never know what moves might occur at the Catholic schools and Fern Creek is on the rise. It will be an interesting year. Which program will step up and take it next year?

On paper Oldham looks loaded. If they reach their potential, they'll be tough to beat for the next two years.

Removing the srs does a lot more than just launch the team with the highest score minus srs into the top spot it moves many around and brings kids who scored lower in some classes automatically higher due to the absence of higher placing srs , you could break it down further and take out the srs and move everyone up in their spots and look at what the scores would be to get a more realistic view of what scores can be projected to look like next yr .

I agree. It's just another way to measure the strength of teams next year. Any team can make huge gains by putting in the work in the offseason.

Tough to beat meaning what? Are you predicting back to back state titles or just saying their team will be a top teir team?

I'm stating they have a huge sophomore class. Many were ranked very high. Many underperformed and they had some bad luck with injuries. There's much potential there. They were a great dual team and not so much a tournament team. They'll improve as a tournament team.

I think Trinity's light to middle weight trio of Duncan, Heidorf, and Barton are solid and will all improve. Frankrone will only get better too and he undoubtedly made Lucas better. I think they surprised a lot of people, but teams will be gunning for them.
