I was just about to post the same thing. Two great wrestlers. Glad to see TJ continue to take steps toward his goals. It's great to see so many kentucky guys in D1 lineups. Yenter 133 Michigan St (Campbell County) Fahy 141 Illinois (Trinity) Ervin 149 Illinois (Union) Ruschell 149 Wisconsin (Ryle) Lampe 184 Chattanooga (St X) Has there ever been so many at one time before? *edit: added high schools. Also interesting to note which programs produced these wrestlers. Hats off to these programs for creating the type of lineage that's required to elevate the level of Kentucky wrestling.

In the 90's and into 2000 they changed the rule allowing middle school kids to compete at HS a few times. A few other states allow it. As long as they earn it and not just thrown in to fill spots it is fine and don't think it will change. I really really don't llike the 32 man bracket at state and only one qualifying tournament now. The district- regional format was good. Most regions you have to win one match to make it to state. My has grown at lot the past 5 yes, in fact its been growing a lot the past ten. As a senior in 2001 when I received a D1 schalorship it had been a good four yrs since a real D1 quality kid( Joe Carr Jr) since then there have been several receive schalorships well deserving with many more to come in the future. The addition of middle school and youth wrestling in ky and new HS programs have contributed the most to the improvement in ky wrestling
