CJ Napier (Kansas) Defeated Caleb Ervin by fall (4-0, 1:38).

Caleb is now out of the tournament, but was a very large success by winning 2 rounds in the Junior Nationals also known as Junior Olympics - the largest tournament a wrestler of his age can attend!

Eric Friedman (Maryland) Defeated by Fall (0-1, 1:11) John Fahy (Kentucky)

John's next match will depict whether or not he places at this years Cadet Nationals.  He will wrestle Derek Elmore (Illinois) for that chance.  Good Luck John!

Each side (Bracket A is the Odd #s, Bracket B is the Even #s) has to get down to 4.  John is in Bracket B and has 5 left.  If he wins this next one, he will be top 4 in Bracket B (possibly top 3 or higher) which means, in that event, he would be an All American as there would be a total of 8 between Bracket A and Bracket B left (top 8 in the nation are All Americans).  Then they would wrestle for position in their bracket.  so that in the end #1 in Bracket A wrestles #1 in Bracket B for 1st and 2nd place.  #2 in Bracket A wrestles #2 in Bracket B for 3rd and 4th place, etc... I hope that explains it.

The bracket can be confusing and sometimes not completely fair. The bye can be the difference sometimes. Some kids get a bye early and some dont get one until very late or if they dont survive not at all.

If I look at the 112 correctly Elmore,Ill (Fahy's next opponent) is 6-1 with no byes, tough draw!

Fahy, Elmore IL, and Hacker CO, all have one loss. Fahy and Elmore face each other next,

Hacker has Friedman who is undefeated.

How will they determine the 4th place if Hacker loses?

Would Hacker wrestle the loser of the Fahy/Elmore match to determine 4th place?

They would determine the 4th placer off of their current points.  Should Fahy lose and Hacker lose, Fahy only has 19 pts while Hacker has 20, so Hacker would be the 4th placer in Bracket B and would move on to wrestle for 7th and 8th.
