2009 ASICS USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Championships

The 2009 ASICS USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Championships, one of the most exciting folkstyle events in the country, is set to take place at the UNI-Dome at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on April 3rd-5th.

This event marks the first leg of the USA Wrestling Triple Crown for the Kids, Cadet, and Junior age groups. To achieve the Triple Crown, wrestlers must win a championship during the same year in each of the three styles: folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman.

USA Wrestling is still seeking its first Junior Triple Crown winner.

Junior and Cadet Registration starts on April 2nd from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the McLeod Center.

ATTENTION JUNIORS!

All finalists qualify for funded-access to the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

The event features seven different age groups:

Bantam (Born 2001-2002)

Intermediate (Born 1999-2000)

Novice (Born 1997-1998)

Schoolboy/girl (Born 1995-1996)

Cadets (Born 1993-1994)

Juniors (Born September 1, 1989 and after, plus current enrollment in grades 9-12), and

Five divisions of Veteran weight classes (Born 1977-1984, 1969-1976, 1961-1968, 1954-1960, 1953 and before).
