J.V. State and results?

Recommended Posts

I know that St. X ran away with it with about 222 points and Woodford was second with about 130 points.  It seemed to run pretty good and we appreciate all the teams coming and getting matches in for the jv wrestlers.  There were quite a few good matches as well.  I am sure that Coach Thomas will post results as soon as he can.

Yes we need the results!  It was at Moore High School in Jefferson Co.  The biggest challenge is they only had two mats.  That's not enough for a tournament of this size.  They did their best with not enough tools.

We think the first State JV tourney went pretty smooth. It was only ran on 2 mats but we were right at the 45 minute rule most of the day so another mat wouldn't have made things much quicker. Hope everyone enjoyed.

We didn't think that we would need three mats for the size of most of the brackets.  There was only one full bracket of 16 kids and 10 were 12 man brackets and 3 8 man.  We ended up having to take about 4 minute breaks to stay under the 45 minute rule, so as it turned out if we had three mats we would have ended up probably with 4 20 minutes breaks.  I think it would have ended maybe 30 minutes earlier but thee would have been a whole lot more down time which no one really likes!!  Thanks again for everyone coming and hope to see people back this same weekend next year (as we are pretty sure we won't be going to state duals!!).  Now with the first year out of the way it would be nice to see more schools present and all regions there.

Attention J.V. wrestlers and coaches! Make sure your team participates in this JV STATE Tournament next year.

It will only get bigger and better! Moore High School worked their tails off!  A gold medal goes to your staff and volunteers!

Good job to hosting by Moore. Their people did work hard to keep things flowing. Too long of a day though. Definetly needed 3 mats. I was there for over 10 hours and our kids only wrestled 3-4 times in 10 hours. Sloooooow motion, slowest tournament of the season by far. Also, one of the refs had to be JV himself. Took him forever to call a flat out pin. Nice medals and trophies BTW. IT was all pretty good for the 1st JV state all in all though. Thanks Moore

Lets make sure everyone understands the 45 minute rule before we reply, but thanks for the rest of your comments... sorry about the JV ref ;)
