relocating to KY...

Recommended Posts

8-)  Hello all wrestling enthusiasts from Kentucky.I am planning a move from the not so great state of New Jersey and am a real wrestling enthusiast.I know here that in certain sections of the state or in specific schools, wrestling is very popular. My home town high school matches average 1000-1500 fans..just on our side..but they are one of the top teams in NJ year in and out...Is there much public interest for wrestling in a state so dominated by basketball ? I love to watch high quality high school and college wrestling.I am considering a move to the Henderson KY area.I looked on the polls and it says Union co is among the best in KY.That would be close by..any love for our great sport in the Louisville area? Where are the regional tournaments held for those two areas and where is the state tourny?  thank you all Look forward to your answers and suggestions

Each Reg. site rotates year in and year out depending on schools turn to host the reg. tournament. Louisville has many great teams Fern Creek, Trinity and Seneca to name a few. The state finals are held in the state capitol of KY. Frankfurt. Feb 14,15&16.

I appreciate your interest in our wonderful sport here in the great state of Kentucky. Coming from NJ the competition and level of wrestling in KY will be a change of pace for you. I too am from out of state, a VA native and competed there as well. I have been coaching here in KY for three years and the level of competition in KY I have to say is getting much better but unlike NJ and VA we do not have studs up and down each weight class. We have some very talented individuals who could compete at a national level but as a state you will see a big change. You can get all the wrestling schedules on this site or go to www.khsaa.org. Good lock with the move.
