KentuckyWrestling.com HS Rankings - 2006/2007 January 17

Recommended Posts

OK, so I am backpeddling on the 3-headed Wayne County monster.  And I have been way too busy to pull together the team dual rankings.  But, with limited thought and consideration and not knowing how the pools will be put together here is my state duals prediction:

1st Fern Creek

2nd Union Co

3rd Woodford Co

4th Wayne Co

5th Larue Co

6th Trinity

Woodford and Fern Creek are sizeable front-runners for the team title in Frankfort right now, with a logjam from 3-7.  But every day it seems like someone gets hurt or loses their eligibility, so anything can happen in the next 4 weeks.

Few things,

Roderick Shoulder beat Jacob Barton 9-3 and is still ranked lower?

also eastern came ahead pf north oldham and oldham county at the big east and we're only 21st?

You have a really short memory, don't you.  I know he beat him Saturday, but I also remember that 5th place finish at the JCTC when Barton won it all and the 4th place finish at the Armstrong Classic.  Keep the whole season in mind.  And team-wise, yes you are only 21st because I think you had guys scoring points that won't score or not nearly as much at state.

hows moore still infront of me when i pinned him???

I don't have the complete results for the tournament, so I didn't even know you wrestled him.  Plus, he just beat you last week.  So that makes you even.

i cant remember a more stacked weight class than 119. im just recallin from memory, but arent all of the top 9, former state placers and if so ,what other weight class has that to offer.

I kno rankings don't matter, and it only matters what you do on the mat. But how am I, DeSales 285, ranked so low behind James Payne of Iroqouis when I've beaten him four times (two times I pinned him) and I've beaten the South Oldah Heavy Wieght, who you have ranked 5th

Give me one more week and I'll get the heavies straightened out.  Mastrovich moved up because he has beated a number of top guys.  Payne has also been wrestling well and when I moved him up I neglected to move you as well.

Also, at least I mention you.  You didn't make the cut on the coaches association rankings, but Payne did.

Last Night at Southern High school, Meade County beat Southern by 1 point and lost to Desales by one point.  For a first year team they are doing very well.

You ranked Meade County forth in Region 3.  I hope they get that high.  They have about 6-7 guys to look for. 1-2 might shock you and even win thier weight class.  You need to look at Antonio Stewart at 119 to be higher in the region then he is.  I'm almost sure that he is 4-1 in the region right now.  Nathan Kelch (160)is a 11 grader.  and hes 4-1 also.  Then theres Cody Bruce(171) who is 3-1.  These guys should end up in the finals at region.  Boddy Fuqua (285)is also another one who could advance.

But that was then this is now he beat a better ranked opponent he should move up higher, plus JCTC the people he lost was caleb wood and chiu

you probably have your reasons for having morlett at third but fuller almost majored him... i think he won by like 5 or 6

Actually Morlett lost by 3 in a match that was constantly going back and forth.  With a couple seconds left Trey was down by 1 and gave up a reversal with the final score being 7-4.  Not even close to a major, both are very tough wrestlers that will continue to have very good matches.  Trey has really stepped it up a great deal in my openion since WCI.  But we shall see this Saturday.

Aaron Carr (119) from Union Co. pinned Luna and beat Zeppa in the finals of the Big East tournament by 1 or 2 points. He has never placed due to being behind his older brother Adam but he has potential. He was a 2x state champ in middle school.

Shawn Wentworth from desales should be ranked higher because he has beaten the central guy twice and he only lost to cameron hartman and derrick nickle by 1pt
