"Save the Kentucky Wrestling Finals" - idea!

In talking with my Head Coach last night as a parent, we discussed what has been happening and how everyone has sent emails and many have called KHSAA to no resolution or even a response that would give you the impression that the KHSAA is open to reasonable solutions. I believe we need to take another angle to this issue, similar to the "Save Olympic Wrestling" resolution that took the country by storm. We need to get our issue out in the public realm and gather the help of Media and possibly Politicians. Here is an idea that could allow the Teams that are hosting all the Region Tournaments a chance to raise some money for their programs while also helping draw some needed attention to our issue.

 

 

We need T-Shirts available at all the Region Tournaments this weekend that say something on the order of "Save the Kentucky Wrestling Finals" in bold on the front of the T-shirts, maybe the backside has the Region affiliation.

 

 

Then we need anyone with Political or Media influence to get pictures of all the Wrestlers at the Region Tournaments wearing these T-shirts, in hopes that they get plastered on all the local Newspapers and hopefully some airtime on the local TV news. All the Wrestlers could be wearing these T-Shirts when they do the Walk of Champions on next Friday morning. This needs to be all over the Media, just like the Handshake email debacle earlier this year.I believe these T-shirts would be purchased by Wrestlers, Parents, Family and everyone that loves Wrestling. I believe Alltech Arena would be flooded with these T-shirts and even if it doesn't create a change, the concern would be raised to another level.  As long as the T-shirts are done in good taste, there should be no reason they would be disallowed at any venue.

I like it... But who would profit from the sales?

Would have to be driven by the Regional Directors Team and then they can either sale at cost or choose to make some money.

 

Our team is not a host and I am just making a suggestion. May not be enough time unless somebody started driving this now.

 

It is all about creating more awareness of the issue.

If we are concerned on who profits then that makes us no different then the KHSAA, just saying.

Sell the shirts at cost and let's do this

Looks like this is a mute point since Coach McCoy's new post with the recent change in schedule to allow a One Mat Final's.
