Region 1 Rankings 12/24/12

Merry Christmas everyone, and to the wrestlers, enjoy your two pounds. I know a couple people said to wait until CCI but I was going to do rankings after CCI anyway. Besides there were some big results this weekend *cough* Matlock *cough* that deserves some recognition heading into probably the biggest tournament in Region 1. This is basically serving as a more accurate cheat sheet concerning what to watch at CCI. Not sure how many kids will be at their weight by that time though. Also coaches if I hear about ANY of you trying to use these rankings as justifications for a seeding I will be flattered but annoyed.

Ward announces his return with a bang, sticking Wes Gray. I know feel confident placing him back in the spot he has deserved all along, he finished second last year for a reason. Debated dropping Sapp from the 6 spot but no other 106 in the region has results as consistent as his.

He will have a chance to prove himself since to my knowledge UHA will be at CCI.

Finally going to acknowledge Insko's injury, any word on that would be helpful; Daviess is getting hit by the injury bug hard it seems. I have also heard rumors of a Wurth injury and an Ervin cut but I will believe that when I see it.

Extremely tempted to put Matlock at #2 here after his huge win over Raymundo Perez, who has a very close win over Sahms. I am going to give the edge to the returning State placer right now, however 138 as a whole just got a lot more interesting. Sadly a super match between Matlock and Sahms won't occur at CCI since Sahms is experiencing the good old prior commitments.

I finally have an excuse to take Sisco out until he can get his act together and string together some wins. But at this rate Davis is probably injured too.

Montgomery just had surgery on his knee of the get it out and get me back in variety from my understanding. Thus he should be back eventually but I don't think he will be at CCI. Collier and the rest of Apollo had some huge wins over the weekend much to my surprise. Be sure to watch how their season turns out.
