  1. I have received a good amount of interest from guys that are a good distance away and aren't sure if they can make every practice. In order to accommodate those guys I am allowing walk-ins for $20 a practice.

Also we recently were able to get a couple of other coaches to assist with practices in John Fahy and Josh Johnson. We now have a combined 9 High-school state titles on staff. All three of us continued wrestling careers through college.

If you have any questions or want to save a spot text me at 747-334-6325!

  3. Since this is a wrestling forum I will look at this from a athletic standpoint.

Any kid taking the extra year for athletics would be doing so to try and earn more money through athletic scholarships or to go for a state title if they didn't win one the first 4 attempts. If they are looking to go that route they would most likely red-shirt at some point in their college career so they won't need to get a head-start and take college classes in there super senior year. Kids will have all the time in the world to get the needed credits for their degree. I took the minimum 12 credits all 5 years and had more credits than needed by a long shot.

Now, coming from a athletic stand point the extra year is a no brainer. Kentucky is way behind most competitive states (only Spencer is nationally ranked and he's graduating) so this gives everyone an extra year to catch up. I spoke with some college coaches about KY giving this option and they were amazed and even mind blown every kid with college aspirations weren't jumping on this opportunity.

I have tried to come up with negatives to why this would be bad for any Hs kid and the only one is possibility of injury. As far as the whole classrooms going from 23-30 that's a bit drastic. The only school that would have more than maybe 2 kids actually committed enough to wrestling to take advantage is Union and I'm pretty sure the school of Ervin could manage. I don't see how this could really help non individual sports and anyone doing It for education should be allowed to do this either way.

With all of that being said, every kid is different and It should be up to the kid at the end of the day.

    P.S .
This also gives people wanting to go D1 and stay in KY a bigger reason to go to Bellarmine. Take an extra HS year, redshirt, and after one year they can go to D1 nationals!

  4. We plan on starting ETC back up as soon as season ends. We may be sending a group of guys out to Folkstyle nationals in Iowa, but that is up in the air as it is a week after the state tournament. As far as camps we plan on having multiple and are currently working on possible dates. We also have a combine in the works and plan on bringing in some nation wide talent to wrestle with our Kentucky guys with college coaches present. Looking at national rankings and only seeing Spence in the top 20 should put a fire under everyone's butt and hopefully we have a full room of committed guys once the state tournament is over!

  5. With the recent shut down of schools and the KHSAA restricting any form of athletic activities, ETC will be using another location until everything settles. I will still be running practices on Sundays and Tuesdays. Ryan Moore will be back from Cornell to run Thursday practices. These practices will be moved from Louisville to Walton Verona area. If you are planning on attending please shoot me a text at 747-334-6325 for the address. This is a smaller room so let me know ASAP so we can coordinate if we need to add extra days to supplement larger numbers.

  6. Hey Everyone, wanted to reach out and give an update on the ETC room. We are starting to grow with tons of talent across all weights. We do plan on capping the room at 36 guys so once we start getting close to that number spots will be limited.

Here is a list of some of the guys we have training with us right now along with their placement at the KHSAA state tournament:

    Spencer Moore 1st-106

    Devon Herron 1st-126

    Ty Lehman 1st-145

    Zach Cowan 3rd-138

    Aiden Zinser 4th-106

    George Ferree 4th-113

    Braedon Herron 4th-120

    Cole Nance 4th-160

    Brandon Gibson 4th-182

    Seth Lutes 6th-132

Along with these guys we have multiple middle school state champs/placers as well. If you have any questions about ETC feel free to give me a text or call at 747-334-6325 or email me at elitetrainingcenterky@gmail.com

    Lets make Kentucky wrestling Great!

  7. Your first practice is free. $100 a month after that. Walk-ins for long distance or out of state athletes only. This is set up for those that can't consistently make It to practices due to travel distance. I don't want to slow the room down for people playing catch up as It is unfair to consistent members.
