I mean yes and no. Of those 75 matches let's be real he wrestled like 8 guys that were halfway decent. As far as size Wojo was massive but I literally called what was going to happen before It happened. Wojo wrestled great all year, but when It comes down to the final important matches where game plans are made he has a post hi-c and a dump with the mix of ugly outside shots. Nobody really attacked him in any of the matches I watched and Ayden let It all out and got 3 takedowns in the first. It was a bad match up for Wojo, Aydens nearly impossible to score on when it's a good shot, much less a bad one.

I think Wojo got a lot better last year to this year but by the time State came he was too one dimensional and easy to coach against. He may have the record for most wins in a year though, I've never seen anyone with 70 matches in a year much less 75 or whatever wins.

Not always completely wrong, DOMINATING 7-4 win for Ayden with 3 takedowns to 0 and only giving up cut points. We might still see the Rider Wojo match afterall!

Crazy to see. I would not be shocked to see Blevins pull this out. For someone like Evans who a lot of people saw as a lock (myself included) it will be interesting to see how he shows up today. He may come in today and tech his way to third. Third is sometimes harder to get than first in my opinion.

Boom! Love that he has cleaned up some of the concerns with mat wrestling that a lot of people had. Much more well rounded this year! Pumped for any kid that goes out to put lots of points up.

I'm wrong a lot, and dawg is one thing you can't account for. Not the prettiest against Ray but in the state series a win is a win! Excited to see these guys battle It out the rest of the tournament.

There is a limit to how old he can be. It's not like there just isn't a cut off. No reason to take away from a kid that works hard.

What about the 18 year old seniors that suck? Does being a sophomore give him super powers?

Personally I think that Wojo is really technically sound, and those are the guys that Ayden does well against. He is extremely hard to finish on and I don't think Wojo has the speed/creativeness to crack him. Seeing that Wojo lost the overall takedown battle on his feet to Nichols 3 takedowns to 2 at mustang I just don't have a ton of confidence. Of the 2 takedowns that Wojo did get one was in overtime. Wojo is definitely in the running for a title, I just don't love his draw. He is a tough kid so I wouldn't be shocked to see him pull it off.

Not counting him out at all! I think Wojo looks solid this year. I do know Rider did little to nothing practice wise the month leading to his match with Wojo due to injury and it was still 5-3 with Rider trying to force a merkle when it was 3-3. I expected Wojo to beat Rider MUCH worse considering. I even won a friendly bet and took Wojo over Rider in this match. As far as Rider and Wojo at state, I dont think it happens. I think Ayden takes out Wojo on top side.

Massive. Plus union coaches know how to gameplan. If they can get Ray to just nonstop attack, it could be a long 6 minutes with 2-day weigh ins. Wojo does look very technically solid this year which can help slow match when he needs a breather.

These are two that I could see busting brackets up. 157 Faucett vs. Pinkston Rd 2. I got winner making the finals. 150 Wojo Vs. Ray round 2. Ray could catch Wojo off the scale if he can burn his lungs with pace.

I think Braxton has been in the heat all year with unions schedule and Wells hasn't seen anyone but Koller so I like battle tested. Christian cut his hair so he's atleast 20% faster for state, easy pick for me. Raneys are gonna Raney. Trumble and Ayden are the boys so I just went off of last match result. Smith vs. Blevins is my favorite match at 120. I think Landon is just too much for everyone else at weight. Big Whorton fan but lack of dominance (pins/techs) over not good guys made me go TJ. Faucett is always in a match and isn't afraid to go big, Malachia still clear favorite. Lane deserves a title. Just went off rankings and gut for rest of weights

I think Luttrell wants to win a title. If he's worrying about #8 guys he's already lost IMO. Not saying to look past them but he's a top 3 guy for a reason. 138 isn't the weight I see KY having 8 guys as title contenders. I think 150 is the deepest as far as people actually capable of winning a title and I would say cut off there is with Lehman at 6.

I get that stuff like this happens. With that being said if they seeded the KY state tournament you would literally have to watch 2 straight rounds of first and second period falls and techs. I would rather watch 2 good (or even really bad for that matter) guys battle back and forth over good guys pinning bad guys. At that point go to 16 man brackets. Pretty sure Ranger did the stats one year on guys outside of the top 16 placing and it's EXTREMELY low. This is clearly coming from a spectator and not a coach with a draw like this LOL.

Does anyone know if the state tournament will be broadcasted on Flo this year? If not will It be streamed anywhere else?

1000% Agree. People want to say "look at other sports" well other sports like basketball and football don't get the chance to fight back for 3rd-8th. Only thing that matters is 1st.

Personally I don't think you can look at one off national tournaments like Super 32 or Ironman as examples. National level guys from 30 different states aren't gonna hurt state seeds. I'm in the heat of battle up here in Iowa in a state that seeds EVERYONE and it's miserable. All the teams including the best teams in the state couple top 50 in COUNTRY teams are forfeiting and ducking to protect seeds. Literally 2 weights have clear 1 and 2 guys right now in Kentucky. One of those weights the 1 is probably 10 points better on a bad day than the number 2. Seeding isn't something that's hurting Kentucky due to having decent depth from guys 1-5. I am all for seeding if there is big bonus to wrestling good in state comp and little down side if you lose to other high level guys. Idk how that all works on track wrestling. I still don't think it's needed (YET).

Let's look at the weights 106-Wells hasn't wrestled anyone in top 5 as far as I know but Koller who he controlled at WCI 10-2 or so and should finish undefeated until state. Cornwell has beat Roman but lost to Koller and union. Roman dominated Koller twice before pinning. So top 5 guys based on that flip a coin on seeds. 113-Birk set his place as the 1 pretty clear (but not a lock imo) and flip a coin for next 3 guys on seeds. 120 clear number 1 and imo a lock for Landon. Flip a coin for next 3 guys 126 clear number 1 and lock for Raney. Flip a coin for next 4-5 guys 132 clear number 1 and lock for Raney. Flip a coin for next 2 guys. (Reeves is probably a clear 2 but not 1000% sold) 138 this is the first weight seeding could be a impact. TJ and Whorton are clear 1-2 seed and big gap after. 144 Jenkins clear number 1 as of now. Flip coin for next 3-4 guys. 150 Miller clear 1 as of now. Flip a coin for next 5-6 guys. Millers 9-8 match with Wojo shows the depth at 150. 157 clear number 1 in malachia. Flip coin for next 4 guys. Faucett could spladle his way to a title 165 put matney at 1 but honestly flip a coin for seeding on 1-5. 175 put Seth at 1 but again flip a coin for 1-4 at this weight 190 Clear 1 and 2 with Lane and Uriah. This is the Second weight seeding would help of 14. 215 Jack at 1 next couple guys flip a coin Hwt Carter at 1 and again, next couple guys flip a coin. I went off of Rangers rankings on these so could be upsets recent that changes this ,but if so, It only makes my point more. Of the 14 weights, I see 2 that have a clear 1 and 2 guy. Of one of those It might be better to get third so less people watch Raney do what he does lol. I don't think seeding is that big of a deal as of yet.

Indiana use to do true second for middle school (maybe they still do idk) and It was terrible. Just get better and don't lose in quarters is all I can say. Realistically what's the difference between second and third.

I completely understand why someone would want seeding. A year ago I would 100% agree. I moved to Iowa right before season and have finally got to be up to date on a state that "loves wrestling" and I can say that Iowa wrestling is a joke DUE TO SEEDING. Coaches are doing everything in their power to protect kids seeds so everyone is ducking each other after the second or third week of season. I watched a rivalry dual of 2 pretty tough teams and 80% of the matches were 2nd and third string kids. I asked the coach why and they straight up said "we have to protect seeds for state". NCAA did the same thing. I don't blame the coaches, end of year is what matters for most of these kids. I can say as a fan AND coach I enjoy the Kentucky season much more than Iowa season because KY kids aren't afraid to wrestle each other. We are also not as far behind as a lot of people think. Numbers is the number one issue with Kentucky, we just need more schools with wrestling.
