Nkawtg, look at the results nation wide and then comeback to argue. I’m not gonna do your homework for you, but your theory is going to be shot all to hell. I don’t have a problem with adding to weight classes no matter how light or heavy or anywhere in between. As long as it promotes wrestling, I’m in favor. Your idea cuts kids out. That does not promote growth. If an 8th grade girl beats a 12th grade boy for a KHSAA State Championship, I guess that is one badass girl. Just saying

That’s quite a statement. Maybe in freestyle, because anyone can get tech’d in a freestyle match. I don’t see Carr being able to tech Merritt in a folkstyle match. -
Flyer says weigh ins are at 8, wrestling starts at 10 and semi finals at noon. The tournament looks a little light this year. There aren’t any full 16 man brackets. Probably should have been a 1 day tournament.

Looks like Giannone is listed at 152 for the WCI

What teams will be there?
-
Easy for you to have that perspective when your a Union Co fan. Imagine being a Johnson Central fan watching that team winning their first State Duals with kids and parents excited to turn around and possibly lose to Union in a dual where there is nothing to gain. There isn’t an “overall State Duals Championship” so there is no reason for the dual. Coach Matney made a great decision for his program. On a side note, Union could have their hands full with Paducah Tillman on the small school side this year.
-
Spencer Co Duals are that day. Not sure if they have any openings. May be worth checking into
-
Union has kids ranked from 132-HWT. If you insert Insko at 138 and bump everyone, someone loses a spot. Most likely will affect Moore, Calloway, or Pike.
-
I have no doubt he will make the line up, just not sure where. There will have to be some shuffling. Someone will lose a spot.
-
Insko is super tough, but...where does he make the line up? He can’t make 132 anymore and Union has #3 ranked Adams 12th grade. 138 is no guarantee with #2 ranked Pogue 12th grade , 145 he has #2 ranked Carr, 152 is #1 ranked Russelburg, 160 is #1 ranked Little. Wish him all the best, but someone in this room isn’t gonna be very happy. Not sure who it will be.

KY AA history and the future of Ky wrestling.
JB replied to wildcat2002's topic in College Wrestling
I would say that being an All American in any division is some pretty lofty goals. I am proud of all of our Kentucky boys, especially the ones that choose to challenge themselves in college. Sean Fausz, Nathan Boston and Austin Meyers are a few of the elite by far, but we can’t all live up to that level no matter the training. I am so proud of all of Kentucky boys that chooses to compete at the next level. If they make their respective national tournament, no matter the division, even better. We can argue about this and that all we want. The bottom line is we are improving. -

Totally understandable. I just wondering about a weight class that's all.

What are some matches everyone would like to see?

What weight class would this "possible huge transfer" wrestle?
