  2. My college coach is now the head assistant are West Point. We regularly talk about kids from KY and I am looking forward to seeing many more Kentucky wrestlers hopefully at the division 1 level and all other divisions in the near future!

    Agreed, always love to see KY kids staying in state. It can be hard for schools to pull in a lot of KY kids just because of all the options. I think there are 108 high schools with wrestling in KY now, with so many colleges in state trying to pull in the talent, not to mention  the out of state schools pulling kids.

  4. We will be hosting a camp for ages 14-18 June 24th/25th at Thomas More! Camp Staff includes head coach Jason Russell (NCAA Qualifier @ Heidelberg University) Sonnieboy Blanco (2x NCAA All-American at Washington & Jefferson) Joseph Brodman (NCAA Qualifier @ UW-Whitewater) and Colin McDermitt (NCAA Qualifier @ Heidelberg University)

  5. Thomas More Wrestling will be hosting our first ever wrestling camp series this summer!

    When: July 18th-19th, August 8th-9th (times available at registration link below) *NOTICE: Lunch will not be provided in between practices*

    Where: Thomas More College Wrestling Room (located behind Ackerman Hall on Renaissance Drive, Campus Map Provided Below)

    Who: Wrestlers grades 7th-12th, all experience levels welcome!

  6. With the season fast approaching, we wanted to give the Kentucky wrestling community a look at the Saints wrestling team for the 2017-2018 year:

    Thomas More Wrestling will enter its second year of competition being led by new head coach Jason Russell, who comes to the Saints from Wisconsin-Whitewater. Graduate assistants Aaron Banko and Richard Dowdley (who served as co-coaches of the program last season) with both be back to form a great staff.     I think you make a number of solid points. When I attended the Freestyle/Greco state tournament in April, I was very surprised by the low turnout. In both Ohio and Wisconsin the freestyle state tournament was a big deal. I think that cost may be a huge factor for some kids, but I believe in Ohio a lot of kids are able to get sponsors that help pay for their trip. I was new to the state this year, but I look forward to trying to get involved with the Kentucky National team next year and help with coaching or providing a place to train in any way that I can.
