    Ky boys

My college coach is now the head assistant are West Point. We regularly talk about kids from KY and I am looking forward to seeing many more Kentucky wrestlers hopefully at the division 1 level and all other divisions in the near future!
  10. Agreed, always love to see KY kids staying in state. It can be hard for schools to pull in a lot of KY kids just because of all the options. I think there are 108 high schools with wrestling in KY now, with so many colleges in state trying to pull in the talent, not to mention the out of state schools pulling kids. 2017 KY All Star Classic

A couple of the matches I remember at 220 Woods launched and pinned Pratt and won OW. I believe it was Nate Wheeling from St. x over Tylan Tucker. Brossart of Ryle beat Lampe in a wild 13-12 match. Smallwood over Noah Duke.

    Fargo - rant #3 - the ugly

Ranger, I think you make a number of solid points. When I attended the Freestyle/Greco state tournament in April, I was very surprised by the low turnout. In both Ohio and Wisconsin the freestyle state tournament was a big deal. I think that cost may be a huge factor for some kids, but I believe in Ohio a lot of kids are able to get sponsors that help pay for their trip. I was new to the state this year, but I look forward to trying to get involved with the Kentucky National team next year and help with coaching or providing a place to train in any way that I can.
