track shows Philpot beat Mark at tsunamis. That’s probably what he was talking about. And i believe he’s right about LaRue too, Jabin Hite has been at 126 and Chris Morton at 120.

Exciting look ahead to the region tournament. Don’t forget Jake Insko, i believe he should be back soon.

The 132 from Christian County won a great match, with class, despite his opponents actions. I think he should be mentioned in the conversation as well.

152 was one of the toughest weights at the tourney as well. Vasquez kid dominated Andreoni and i would guess that every coach had already turned in their ballot before the match. I hate that they always “remind” coaches to get their ballots in 5 matches into finals. Typically heavyweights have 0 chance to get MOW because of that. I thought the 182 match was going to be the one that determined MOW as well but the refs did put their thumb print on the match which likely changed many minds. Hoppes and Smallwood were both very deserving as were a few other kids.

Every time you think Meade is going to have a down year they pull 5 first year kids out of the hallways that are strong as an ox and make Region finals. I’d be hesitant to put them at 5th. i do agree though that Apollo has been young for long enough. They will be tough. Should be another exciting Region this year. i just hope wrastler is as wrong about LaRue as he was last year.

It was a great tournament. Super proud of Larue county for their accomplishments this season. They were able to beat some very good teams. The LaRue / Meade rivalry is live and well. As expected they wrestle hard from the first whistle to the last and are as classy in defeat as they are in victory. Look forward to seeing some rematches in the late rounds of state tourney. Saw some somewhat serious injuries at the tourney and I hope and pray for a speedy recovery for all involved. John Hardin had a very good tournament missing some guys and are a young team. Apollo had a strong showing and are very young. North, Central, Taylor have some strong kids who are gonna be returning. To think this tourney could be even tougher next year is exciting. Larue had 14 kids in both of the duals you mentioned, but it was not their full lineup. Against Meade larue was without Bell and Bingham and had a couple 8th graders filling holes. That's part of wrestling. Glad to hear the other teams in the region are healthy. Region 2 may be the strongest it's been in a while and once this tournament is over we go to state together and show em how strong our region is. As far as predicting weights I would have a few matches going a different way than you have but could see much of what you predicted happening. With 1 exception. 106, I see you've got your Perry kid winning it all. Haven't seen him wrestle since December so you would know more than me, but I've seen Mattingly wrestle quite afew times. I think mattingly could make a run at a state title this year. I see Perry finishing 4th in that weight. As close as your team points totals are I'm guessing that would have a big impact. I'm not knocking your guy by any means. Tough kid with a great record. It's just a strong weight class. I hope every team team stays healthy and brings their best effort for what looks like a battle this weekend. I like LaRue's chances. Hawks Forever

Are there more than 3 mats this year? This tournament was a grind last year. Last match was after 10 PM

All star is an invitational dual which has been very exciting for the preseason. But there are some top level teams that have chose not to participate. Again I love the idea. But I know how hard it is just to get teams to go to sectionals. Hard to get 100% buyin for anything other than region and state tourney. Teams even back out of state duals
