Kentuckywrestling.com HS Rankings 2015/2016 - JANUARY 8
Nike Man replied to Ranger123's topic in High School Rankings
I wouldn't call it a huge loss. #1 and #2 kids in the state both with national accolades. I would say this was a 50/50 match to begin with. Hudson and Max are both on another level. Something tells me they will see each other again. -
Congratulations to Oldham Co. They are a great team that is well coached.

The night before State Duals and nothing but crickets!?!?
-
The problem is you just antagonized a person and instigated from a 14 hour old post. This would have probably died, but you chose to throw your 2 cents in. Next time try seeing how old a post is before responding.
-
True, you have a point. I was more or less trying to make a point of equality. What's good for one is good for another. That's all.
-
So, were the seeds sent out yesterday?
-
That's why I am a fan of hosting it at a venue, not a school (high school or college). If we move it around the state, is it possible to find 5 separate venues to rotate to? A north, south, east, west, and central location? If so, we shouldn't hear too many complaints about travel.
-
I don't see where anyone was bickering. It was a few people having a productive exchange about the venue. And you may want to re-check the title of this thread, it is "State Duals", not the "talent going and individual predictions." This is a general discussion about whatever someone wishes to discuss relating to the State Duals. If you don't like the content, don't read it. And "MIC DROPPED"? Really? Are you 12?
-
Very good points. I was not saying that we should just change location on a whim either. I just thought if we nailed down a "permanent" location, the issue would be solved. That being said, I also like the idea of a rotating site, as long as it doesn't cause a participation issue. All in all, if it's building the sport, I will support it.
-
NatureBoy, I was just throwing out an idea to solve the "host team" issue. If we were to have a tournament or duals at a neutral site, then we have possibly fixed the problem. In my opinion, just because a school host the State Duals, that doesn't give them an "automatic bid" to compete if another school drops out. The Frankfort Civic Center is an awesome venue for wrestling. If it were up to you, what is your solution?

KSWA Region 4 Tournament, Sat Jan 30, 2016

Haha, Dustoff, you amuse me with your accusations. Create another account? Cute. Once again, you have no proof to your argument. A foot in my mouth? Prove it. As far as winning, yes, you are finally correct. That is what I do, and have done a wonderful job doing it. When you get on my level, then you can have some input. Until then, please excuse me, I need to go Dustoff my rings. -
I see both sides of this debate. I could easily argue it either way. Rather than doing that, how about moving it to Frankfort at the Civic Center? This could possibly fix the host team problem, it gives a central location, and it is one awesome venue to watch wrestling!!

KSWA Region 4 Tournament, Sat Jan 30, 2016
Nike Man replied to plantmanky1's topic in Youth Wrestling
As a matter of fact sir, I have multiple middle school District 7 titles, middle school Region 4 titles, and a couple of high school State titles. I don't consider myself better than Eastern KY folk, I've got family that graduated from JC and still live in Paintsville. I just believe that Eastern KY (when it comes to wrestling) has always had an "us against the state" attitude. Honestly, Jim Matney is one of my favorite coaches. All of that said, I'm pretty sure that I did admit it is about the kids and not about you. Team is another word for the wrestlers/kids, etc. in case you got confused. And as far as always traveling to us, are you off your meds or just new to the sport? We have rotated back and forth for years, so don't try to play that card. You got any other attempts to discredit me? -

Sorry Dustoff, I'm not the coach. Honestly, I don't have a dog in the fight. I don't even have a kid this age. I just saw where Johnson County was about to throw a monkey wrench in a lot of teams and parents plans, and I wasn't going to stand by and watch it happen. There is absolutely no excuse for JC to want to host this tournament on Sunday, unless there is an alterior motive. The woe is me Eastern KY crap has got to give. I've heard it for 25 years! -

Wow! ^^^^^Who sounds like the crybaby? It wasn't District 7 that made the decision, it was the association. If you have an issue, take it to them. Sounds like you may not be a fan of wrestling, just a fan of your district. The best decision was made for wrestling, not for you. -

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about new officials or a change of location? -

Region 4 middle school wrestling tournament rescheduled

As the host team, it is your responsibility to make sure you have the help you need. Not only from parents and wrestlers, but from the referees as well. If one ref or all 3 refs cancel, you find replacements. It's not like this happened the morning of regions, this happened a week before. There is plenty of time to find new officials. If Johnson County isn't capable of running this tournament, it really needs to be hosted by someone else. -
So what teams are participating in the big school division?

Nah, it's never too late. -
Can someone list the big school teams that will be competing the weekend? Also, how they finished from what sectional as well. Thanks!

I'm sure that Anderson, Woodford, Elkhorn, or someone would be more than willing to step up and take the reigns here. -
Well, Ive got good news, I've heard that Landon is back!!

Region 4 middle school wrestling tournament rescheduled

Once again, I will remind parents just like I did with the snow, that change can be made, you just have to network. Having this tournament on Sunday is unacceptable. Honestly the NKY region should have been postponed until this weekend as well, but you can't undo the past. Back to the subject. Hosting this tournament on Sunday is not in the best interest of KENTUCKY WRESTLING as a whole. It is in the best interest of teams like the one that Dustoff represents. Dustoff's argument solidifies the exact reason why I believe that a kid no matter what age or grade needs to designate whether he/she is youth, middle, or high school, and not be eligible to wrestle all over the place. -
That's what I heard as well. Hopefully he will be 100% soon.
