Any big matches, surprises, upsets??
-
Congrats to Reed and Moore for coming home with some hardware. Very impressive performances. Great job by all of our kids for representing KY. We have to continue to make these styles more prevalent here at home. I would love to see our participation numbers grow! Once again, thanks to all of the wrestlers, coaches, and parents who participated in this awesome event!

I know a few kids that will be at Kyle's camp at North Oldham. Should be a good one. As far as the college scene goes, I haven't heard a whole lot. I would bet on Boston being at 133 or 141. With the right amount of weight training, 141 sounds like a better fit. I have heard that Yenter is finished wrestling at Michigan State, by choice of course. Nothing confirmed though. Fausz and ATM will be a blast to watch this year. It's nice seeing KY kids having success.

What a great week! Tomorrow is the last day and we will have a lot of live goes and a dual meet to top things off. Thanks to all the wrestlers, parents, coaches, and supporters who helped make this camp possible. -

Day 3 is in the books. This group of guys have been extremely hard working! We are proud of all of them. Glad to have Coach Wilkerson in the room with us today. Only 2 days left, but our door is open for anyone else who wants to come and train. -

Wow! What a great first day! Great camp with a lot of quality kids that want to train hard. Rusty is an excellent Coach and technician. It's not too late anyone else wants to come down. This is an excellent chance to learn from one of the best. Hope to see you there! -
Great job by David this weekend. Congrats to him and his family.

Do I hear a tiger roaring? That would make some things very interesting.... -

Woodford's CJ Cardwell and Ronan Wyatt went 2-2. Both looked solid. Had a couple of CWA placers. One 2nd and one 5th. I believe Walton Verona's Spencer Moore took 5th. Hard to see all of the KY boys. That place is pretty spread out.

I definitely see both sides of the debate. My argument is, we don't see international competition moving in this direction, so why should we. I'm heading to Iowa this weekend for the Olympic trials, and I guarantee I won't see anyone wearing shorts and shirts for competition. The ultimate goal isn't state championships, Flo championships, NHSCA championships, or any other high school or college tournament. The biggest stage is the Olympics, and in my opinion, we should follow their lead. Leave the greatest sport on Earth alone. It's fine the way it is.

Agree with plantmanky1, I don't much care for it. Not only is it too much to regulate, I'm old school, I like singlets. This isn't MMA or wrestling practice. Why fix what isn't broken? And for those that want to argue about not getting kids out due to having to wear singlets, those are the kids that would either find a different excuse or quit a few weeks in anyhow.

The future is looking great!!

Cornett takes 3rd. Great finish! Congratulations to you and all the KY guys who went and represented our state.

That stinks for Casey. Hopefully he gets his head straight and comes back and wins 3rd. Terrible way to lose though.
-
Sounds great! Thanks!

I know it's not Northern KY, but Team KY is working out Thursday night 6-8 at Woodford Co. Just sayin...

This NCAA Tournament has been one of the craziest I've seen. I've kept up with and watched just about every round. So many great matches, scrambles, and "upsets." I say "upsets" simply because I believe once you get to that level on that stage, your pretty damn good and are on a fairly level playing field. The semi finals were awesome, always my favorite round. The finals tonight will be fun as well. I'm sure we may see another surprise or two before the night is over. Glad to see Fausz get a win. Hopefully we continue to see KY representation at the NCAAs and better yet, start bringing home some more AAs.

Tough day for our KY guys. Lampe and Fahy go 0-2. Fausz is still alive going 1-1.

In case anyone didn't know, Alex Marinelli (committed to Iowa) and Mark Hall (comitted to Penn State) are going to meet on the mat this weekend. These guys are ranked #1(Hall) and #2 (Marinelli) in the country. As if that wasn't enough, this is also a possible future B1G 10 match up for years to come. Should be a great match. Being a Hawkeye fan, I will be pulling for Marinelli, but with Mark's brief history in KY, I will be ok with whoever wins. I'm just really looking forward to the match. Anyone else have any thoughts or predictions?
