Let the kids wrestle. But also, isn’t there a mandatory quarantine? Sticky situation.

    SB128 signed by the governor

Great response. I agree with all of this, but as a high school senior, I wanted to get out of there as quick as possible and off to college.

I think he means most undefeated guys entering the state tournament. In a normal year a lot of these top wrestlers compete out of state and against each other but due to covid most major tournaments were cancelled.

Tilghman had a finalist named Bryan Hall back when I was in school at heavyweight. He went on to play college football at Arkansas St. and eventually with the Baltimore Ravens. Kid was a physical specimen.

    No podium or awards

Have to fight back. No other choice. I was told by a former coach in the wrestling hall of fame that “It’s time for the coaches to grow a pair and step up and challenge the KHSAA”.

It was fixed on the event for Semi State 2, but the event for the state finals still shows 102 points for Trinity.

    Brackets are out

Head To Head Common Place Record Isaac Thornton 1-0 (cain) tied 2 14-0 Eli Peyton 1-0 (hoppes) tied NP 21-1 Thomas Hoppes 0-1 tied 2 33-1 Jacob Cain 0-1 tied 4 35-1 Cain lost to Thornton so he is behind Thornton. Hoppes lost to Peyton, so he is behind Peyton. Hoppes placed 2nd so he is ahead of Cain. Should be 1 Thornton, 2 Peyton, 3 Hoppes, 4 Cain.

    Brackets are out

That is how I had it. Following criteria, I only had a handful where I couldn't predict the order. Thornton undefeated and runner up, Peyton ahead of Hoppes for head to head, Hoppes 1 loss and returning runner up. Cain has one loss but placed 4th. It has to be fixed somehow. Trinity still has 102 points eventhough their semistate score was corrected to reflect only 100 team points.

Congrats to all that placed at state.

Michael Barren, Julian Tackett, thank you for being insouciant in your decisions this year towards the kids. You have made many enemies, I’d imagine everyone in the wrestling community besides Coach Matney. Your negligence in decision making has given the KHSAA a black eye that no words you can express will wipe away the stain. Hope to have a candid and concrete conversation with you next week at state. Congrats to the kids that qualified. They went through the rigors of a season dictated by the KHSAA, Tackett, and Barren, but many kids were left at home in order to check the box of “having” a wrestling state tournament. I hope the KHSAA and BOC sleeps well at night knowing audacity they had to ignore the recommendations from the Kentucky wrestling community.
