Thomas was more than counted out, he looked forever to even get a doctor to release him after tearing his acl earlier in the season. I talked to Avery at the Mater Dei classic and he seemed like he really wanted another shot at Andreoni to me. Just my two cents.

Stevens is a tough wrestler. Good kid too. Looks like unions dual meet win streak over the region continues (14 seasons).

Looks like a few female wrestlers in the region. More than I can remember than in years past. Wonder what the score of the Stevens/Ervin match was.

Ross Hicks will be making the drop to 195 (197) at Monday's regional duals. Weighed in at 198.5 at Mater Dei. Payne Carr and Sam Bacon were very impressive at the Mater Dei invite. Carr beating the youngest Lee brother for 3rd. The oldest Lee brother just enrolled at Penn State (Nick Lee). Escalera is on a mission. Don't see anyone stopping him. Oxford looks the to be at the best he's ever been. To be honest I am the most shocked by Matthias Ervin at 170. Kid has improved 200% since last season. Micah should place high at state. Gabe Adams isn't on the level of Grant-Hall but I believe he will place at state as well.

It's day 2 at the Mater Dei (Indiana) Holiday Classic. Several KY wrestlers are in the semi's with a few already making the finals. Zeke Escalera, Nate Wheeler so far have made the finals. It's a tight team race at the top with Union, Mater Dei, St. X, and Avon neck and neck.

Looks like Union is going to win this tournament. Without Gabe Adams (113) this is a big time win. Second time Mater Dei hasn't won their tournament, with the other time coming a few years ago when Union won.

How did the matchup of Union vs Calloway go?

Strategy. I'm guessing to avoid King and wrestle their 160. Could've risked losing both 152/160 if he didn't bump up. King is one of the best pound for pound wrestlers in Tennessee. Tough matchup for a freshman Ervin.

They compete in the Father Ryan Invitational now (placed second behind FR last season). Not sure if this dual will alternate or be continued yet. Big win nonetheless
